Good or bad? Thinking after they tear the field up next summer this will be the best option. Will this complete the commercialization of the best amateur sport left?

Astro turf is long gone bud.

But I could see LSU doing something like baseball where the playing surface is grass but sidelines are turf. I wouldn't like it one bit tho.

This is already happening in a few spots on the field. Why wouldn't you like it? The playing surface is all that matters. As long as none of the players can get injured going into the sideline (a la Reggie Bush a couple years ago) then what's the problem?

I say they artificial turf from the sidelines to the fence all arround the field and leave the natural grass for the playing surface only. This would allow them to quit using that ugly arse tarp in the player areas. This would be similar to the baseball field. Also, I would like to see the artificial turf on the baseball field extended onto the warning track in the outfield. I think it would look great. Make it happen!!!

How do you know they are tearing it up next summer? They only do it when they host BCSF.

Ole Miss pulled out their field turf and went back to grass.

Alleva told Delly they need to tear it up after next year to install a new drainage system.

quote:

@RossDellenger Next summer, #LSU will rip out the field of Tiger Stadium, dig 8 feet and replace drainage.

"Gonna cost me $2 million," Joe Alleva says.
