Alleva told Delly they need to tear it up after next year to install a new drainage system.

Thanks, missed that part.

You know, LSU has tremendous landscaping program as well as construction management.
Have the professors & students knock out the work for about tree fiddy.

@RossDellenger Next summer, #LSU will rip out the field of Tiger Stadium, dig 8 feet and replace drainage. "Gonna cost me $2 million," Joe Alleva says.

he won't be here.

Hopefully, Woodward or Radakovich will be in charge of that project.

Sure you simply men artificial turf. I hate the stuff for a lot of reasons, a lot just to mention one. We have one of the best field maintenance supers in the business, let him do his job.

The latest artificial turf surfaces are far advanced over the old school "Astroturf" surfaces. Although millions of square feet have been installed, you don't need it when you have limited play, an essentially unlimited budget and highly skilled grounds crews like LSU has.

I'm all for artificial turf and anyone that knows me understands why but it's not for a facility like Tiger Stadium.

This would be similar to the baseball field. Also, I would like to see the artificial turf on the baseball field extended onto the warning track in the outfield. I think it would look great.

you ever played on an artificial surface?
it sucks arse. plays completely different than grass does. and personally i hate it and hope whoever started the trend of putting that shite in place where grass grow naturally walks around for the rest of his life with a raging boner but never gets to blow his load.

the warning track needs to be dirt.
i wish Alex Box kept the dirt track in foul territory.

looks don’t mean crap.
but when running (looking up and behind you), you can feel the drastic change under your feet from grass to dirt and know you’re about to smoke a wall.
you don’t get that feel going from grass to turf.
and you damn sure don’t get it from green turf to brown turf.
