You people overreact to this stuff. It ratings!! SVP and Ryen talked about this yesterday. They go into production meetings and ESPN says you have to pick an upset. When they dont like the pick, they say, that upset has to be a road team. Then it ends up being, pick a top 10 team on the road to lose or be on upset alert. This weeks show had nothing to talk about except FSU/Clem. Rest of teams should cake walk to wins. Have to fill in 3 hours each week.

^100% truth. Every sports information outlet does this. Some friends of mine work in radio here in Houston, This is how they fill the slot. Would be boring as f*ck if all they did were spit out numbers.

Why is that taken as disrespect? Why do so many LSU fans have this insecurity. It's a new QB first road test in the SEC. Our line is banged up, and Auburn in going to be jacked up. I also would not be shocked, suprised yes but not shocked if they pull the upset.

Why is this surprising?
Herbstreit = Ohio State Alum
Les Miles = Michigan Alum

No surprise, dude just has a hard on for LSU under Miles. I was just thinking what you posted and said to myself that if it were Alabama he would be sayin Auburn has no chance against a Saban coached team. Dude just has no respect for Miles and his teams.

does not compute

Auburn is 102nd in Total Offense, 94th in Total Defense, and dead last in the SEC in most statistical categories.

History states these games will be close. But like last year, I think LSU is dominate.

The game is on ESPN, they do want people to watch it.

You sound like Herbstreit. Have you watched AU play?

Let me tell you what will be shocking: if AU can move the ball at ALL on LSU's defense. Their QB not only plays like JJ, but looks like JJ minus all the great athletes LSU surrounded him with. Last week he was dominated in the second half by ULM.

This game shouldn't even be close. And if Herbsreit is truly serious, that means he hasn't watched either LSU or AU play.

Finally, Herbsreit is media and has a vote. The insecurity is rooted in guys like himself constantly pumping up teams like Bama to the point where un-thinkables like "re-matches" were made possible.

Look at LSUs schedule.. It is horrid three cupcakes all at Tiger Stadium

I agree, and have stated that LSU will not get outside respect until they beat Florida.

I have expressed my disappointment many times iwth the cupcake diet approach to LSU OOC scheduling in many years.

This is probably correct. And we all make the constant mistake of thinking ESPN is unbiased reporting and it's not. There is a reason they are called Entertainment and Sports Programming Network..

At this point, it's safer to say Herbsreit is an entertainer than a football analyst. But as I just stated in a previous post, the insecurity comes from the fact that this guy has a vote and campaigns throughout the season and especially the end to affect the outcome of who plays in these title games.

Many LSU fans (or fans of any team) knows theirs better than the talking heads and national analysts. ESPN and their prognosticators job's are not to be right. Their job is to create viewer interest and controversy.

That might change if Washington beats Stanford.

Remember on 1/9 when Herbstreit thought Alabama would win in a close game and how that turned out? Now he has LSU winning a close game which could be the 21 point spread exactly.

Playing LSU early may have been a blessing for UDub. That team was still trying to find an identity, and it certainly could help them down the road.

Herb also said that USC was going to play in the NC. That should tell it about Herb.

I hear from fellow fans/students that go to game day that they yell at him screaming profanities and they use to throw drinks at him occasionally. They put the cheerleaders behind them now and they have always had a big screen behind them as well.

Kirk is just a moody female that has a irritant in his snatch call LSU.

I say, since all of you hate him so much show it on Nov. 3rd at gameday.

The best thing LSU fans could do with Gameday is not show up. Screw those pricks.
