It's not my business I suppose. Anyway, my comment was tongue-in-cheek.

He had as long under pelini as he did saban. pelini isn't considered chopped liver. so, is it the coaching or is it the kid?

He was buried on the depth chart. You're not gonna get much coaching when you're 3rd, or 4th string outside of group work. You aren't learning shite running with the scout team.

he didn't learn much at LSU.

maybe that is why he was down the depth chart. Les Miles did the right thing in letting him transfer even to bama. He is just a kid and his heart was not in LSU. Even today he would not be a starter. Maybe next year when eugene and peterson are going to be gone.

Saban said "there were things he didn't know". I believe that. Who is a better d-back coah than NS in this Conf.?

He has to justify getting burried on the depth chart somehow...

The stupid part was letting him go without restrictions. Should never release a guy and allow him to go to a west division team. Plus the ahole said he was going to Auburn. Big lie.

He wouldn't be steting for LSU so I don't see why any of us care. If he somehow works himself into some rotation at Bama fine, but it ain't like LSU should be losing sleep over him.

It just shows his character if he is really openly disrespecting LSU. I would hope someone is just twisting his words.

It appears that Tony Jones likes to run his mouth. Compare these with his quotes when NS put the full court press on Phelon at the last minute in 07, and you'll see a complete 180. My theory is that Tony became persona non grata after the he called into question Saban's ego, and now he's making up for lost time.

I'm sure Phelon has improved, as DB's are Saban's specialty. Knowing this, I was uncomfortable with the decision to release him to an SEC West foe, especially Bama. We'll see if it bites us in the arse.

I remember that Tony pretty much wanted to pistol whip Saban because he was so pushy with Phelon.

Things to consider regarding this issue.
:Phelon was surpassed by better talent on a couple occasions.
:LSU has recruited DBs better than most other position.
:Saban is well known for coaching a stingy secondary.
:Bama is thin (really thin) in the secondary this year.
:Phelon was relegated to ST most of his career w/LSU
Hopefully Phelon will afford LSU plenty of opportunities to exploit Bama this year in Death Valley

Tony Jones, along with Sidell Corley's dad, both braged about how much their sons loved LSU. Guess that was a joke worth laughing at.

Phelon Jones to Alabama
Sidell Corley to Troy
