Never change Rant. Never change.
It's scary how spot on this is
Is Jimbo a roaring success at 10-2 next year? Is he on the hotseat at 9-3? I guess, I'm not sure what the haha gotcha here is.

Absolutely
I don't think he's done a bad job this year but he's not rebuilding. A$M is tough in the trenches and has a good running game. They've played tough all year, until the final minute or so

Article is dumb.
A Coach's first season in a program doesn't expose anything.
Nick Saban, Alabama, 2007 - 7-6
Dabo Swinney, Clemson, 2009 - 9-5
Pete Carroll, USC, 2001 - 6-6
Urban Meyer, Florida, 2005 - 9-3
Jim Tressel, Ohio State, 2001 - 7-5
Bob Stoops, Oklahoma, 1999 - 7-5
Urban Meyer at OSU and Les are outliers. Les had 11 wins in 2005, but obviously was taking over for Nick. Urban went 12-0 in his first year at OSU but was taking over for Tressel and couldn't go to a bowl.
See how there is a discrepancy between championship coaches and their records in the first year at a program? It's almost as if it isn't conclusive of success moving forward.
Oh yeah, and Larry Coker was an undefeated national champion in his first year as head coach. What's he up to these days?
We have a coach. That doesn't mean that the coaches we tried to get and didn't get are suddenly terrible.
I don't know why some people on this board needs to prove that Jimbo Fisher and Tom Herman are garbage to feel better about LSU.

Ok now do Miles and LSU

Jimbo is flat out underachieving and giving A&M more of what they got under Sumlin

He’s a mediocre football coach who hasn’t ever done shite without Jameis Winston
He won 51 games in five seasons without Jameis before his final season when he was already halfway out the door, including a conference and two division championships to go with the two of each he won with JW.
Plus, does he not get credit for recruiting and developing a Heisman winner, that he plucked out of Saban’s backyard, and great college QB that became a #1 draft pick??

it’s so funny that he has this cult following on TD simply because he turned us down.

They fired Sumlin and paid Jimbo $75 million for championships. If they increase to 10 wins next year, it will definitely be a nice stepping stone to that and will probably have 95% of the fans happy for the moment. But ultimately he has to win a trophy or 2 for the gamble to truly have been worth it

What does that have to do with rooting for A&M??
Does that mean all the posters that hated Miles, and there are many that proudly boast that to this day, rooted against LSU all those years??
Because I can actually root for my alma mater and the team made up of 85 players and many assistant coaches even if I happen to think the HC isn’t a good thing for the program long term.
Is that such a difficult concept for the Miles haters to grasp?

Not surprised you don't see the blatant hypocrisy.
The same people that are giving Fisher shite for year 1 with none of his own players made excuse after excuse for O losing to UF and getting blanked by Bama in '16, then excuse after excuse for Troy and State last year.

What do O and Miles have to do with this? I already said that O isn’t in a rebuild and neither is Fisher. Learn to read, dipshit.
And sure, give him all the “credit” you want for Jameis Winston. It’s so awesome that he was highly successful in 2010 and he did it all by himself. Doesn’t change the fact that aside from having one Heisman winner he’s never seen a “biggest contract in the country” level of success, or even close to it. Typical dumb arse 95 IQ ranter arguing random things that have nothing to do with the main argument.
Again, subtract the Winston era and Jimbo averages 8.6 wins over the course of his head coaching career. When one player defines your entire coaching career and you’re mediocre without them, you’re not elite. He’s nowhere near a sure thing for future success like morons like you pretend, I said the same thing about Chavis not being that good and not being cut out to see success without elite talent and was met with the same dumb pointless arguments from our jilted fans. As soon as a coach turns down or leaves LSU, he turns into the greatest thing on earth per the rant.
It’s like clockwork, and I’ll make sure to bookmark this thread and revisit it in a few years so we can see who knows what they’re talking about and who doesn’t

It’s not far from one when 4-5 if the 8 wins are gimmies and the powers of the west keep beating u.

What’s different this year? This A&M team is spectacularly similar to the A&M teams of the last several years.

What's does A$Ms stats have to do with LSU?
They are ranked 21st in total offense, 26th in total defense
What does that have to do with O? Your hatred is causing psychosis.

Well since we’re dealing with such a titan of intellect here, please explain how this is a fair analysis:
quote:
subtract the Winston era and Jimbo averages 8.6 wins over the course of his head coaching career
If you’re going just “subtract” the two best seasons of a coach’s career, why not be at least somewhat impartial and also subtract say his one worst year as well, especially since he was already one foot out the door and lost his starting QB for the year in the first half of the first game of that year anyway
Taking out those three seasons, Fisher won over 10 games a year in his other five, with an ACC title and two division titles.
Not sure what that is, but I’d argue it isn’t “mediocre”.
quote:
He’s nowhere near a sure thing for future success like morons like you pretend,
Perhaps you could point to even a single thing I’ve ever said indicating I thought Jimbo was a “sure thing”. TIA

Weird melt, dude. But ok, I’ll be happy to see you bump a thread in a few years when I made no predictions or assertions whatsoever
