If he was going to play tackle, it would have already happened.
That's a dumb statement. He didn't play tackle last year because Vadal could play RT and they didn't trust a RS Fr (Clapp) to make the calls. Grimes tries to get the top 5 lineman on the field at the same time regardless of position, so the situation dictated that we needed Pocic at C last year to make the calls. This year could prove to be different.
And again, I seriously doubt Pocic would have come back without being told he'd get a shot at tackle. Centers just aren't drafted very high (unless you are the Pounceys)so if the plan was to keep him at C, he could have just gone pro this year and been a middle round pick like the top center is almost every year.
Also, La'el and Vadal both spent time on the inside before moving to tackle not to mention they are toying with moving Tehuma from the inside to tackle right now.
You may end up being right about Pocic playing C if we find 2 tackles that Coach Grimes believes are in our top 5 OLineman but to say since he hasn't played tackle yet then he won't this year is a bad argument and just not accurate.

This. Pocic is said to be the smartest lineman on the team, as well as the best overall talent, and played C out of necessity. He will be at T this year unless he just can't manage the switch.

This as well. Pocic has elite Tackle written all over him. If he can handle the position change, harder than most people imagine, he will 100% slide over. There is a reason LT's make more than any other OL position in the NFL.

Hopefully we'll soon get a clearer picture as to how much, if any, progress in weight, strength, and technique the younger OLmen have made since last season...jmho, I expect Campbell to challenge for some playing time.....

Really interested to see how this all plays out. Grimes has so many options to work with. Shouldn't be a weak a spot on the line this year.

RT is the only spot that worries me. its not that we don't have talent, just lack experience. A young guy playing guard gets help on most plays from the guys on either side of him but a tackle is usually on his own.

Agreed. I see Pocic sliding in at LT when he gets back, with Clapp replacing him at C. That leaves Boutte, Weathersby, Dodd, etc.. to duke it our over RG and Domond, Weathersby, Okeke to battle over RT.
maybe all of this Maea to LT talk is to cross train him at T since we seem to have better depth at G.

Has he been here yet this Spring? Everyone seems to be saying this so wouldn't it make sense he would be practicing here now? Maybe he has and I've missed the update.

So no Weathersby?

No weathersby. He would be the pocic - type backup. Can play multiple backup spots (thus playing a lot) before starting next season

I'll borrow from several posts. Pocic is recovering from surgery. This plus the need to groom Mara T as a backup and future LT, has him practicing there. Once the staff has enough evaluation on Maea, they will determine what's best for the team.
Pocic returning may have been influenced by his NFL evaluation based on injury. Another successful season at either LT or C will pay him well. He may even split time to demonstrate his versatility, which increases his value in NFL.

Everyone is assuming he came back to play tackle and quickly forgetting that he had hip surgery.
