Hale is 10x better at 1B than Chinea is.

sec road series may not be the place but, why not try byrd at 3b against tulane?

You were right last night. I think it's time to get Byrd in the lineup.

Krob really screwing us
How many people said all he needs to do is bat 240-250?
How many people said all he needs to do is get on base at a decent clip?
What's "screwing" us is so many players hitting well early and PM feeling forced to play them all. Foster hitting well; Chinea hitting well (BA at least); Zardon and Fraley were hitting well.

I'm okay with trying him at 2B and moving Foster to DH. Him or KRob.

I want Verizon so bad right now mmmmmmm

After seeing Zardon's play at first last night, the discussion deepens. He single handedly saved a couple-few runs that I'm not certain Chinea could have. Hale could have though, but they seem to really like him at 3rd.

He gave up one, but he had what... 3 picks?

It's a tough call. Hale has done well at third. I wanna see Grayson a little more too though.

He started there Tuesday night didn't he?

Yeah. the one big one when the bases were loaded was 2 runs at least.

This is what I was thinking, but Zardon is stuggling badly at the plate.
What do you think about Byrd at 3rd?

Walk % is now at 8.50, lowest in the Mainieri era.
I'm not even worried about walks any more because it's obvious Mainieri can't stand for anyone to take pitches, but we're becoming even less and less patient. It may not matter in many cases, but guys like last night that can keep their two seamer down in the zone are going to give us trouble because our approach will make it more difficult than it has to be. We aren't going to take enough borderline pitches, or run up their pitch count enough, to make them elevate it. Instead we'll just beat ground balls into the dirt early in the count most of the game because we have to swing at any fastball over the plate.

Definitely. He had a bad throw on the pickoff but had a couple of nice digs.

Zardon needs to find his swing. He needs to be on the field to at least stabilize the corners. That way the only question is 2B.
