yikes. Everyone has opinions i guess.

If you dont like the overweighted value of OPS you can look at the GPA posted in this thread. He's still 9th out of 10.

That puts even more weight on OBP.

right sorry he turned me around in my head a bit.

OPS values OB% and slugging evenly. What he meant to say is he doesnt value the GPA stat.

I'd be good with Robertson at 2B hitting .250. I just keep thinking back to 09 when CPM put Nola at SS and he only hit .240 that year. But whoever he puts there needs to stay there so him and Bregman can get a rhythm.

I don't mind where he hits honestly but he needs to play. Talk about not putting him line up is dumb. I like Paul's line up with Kade at 7-8 because it brings a power hitter and a great base hitter late in the lineup behind two speed guys just like a 4 hole hitter. This line up is one of the best top to bottom line ups I've seen in a long time. Imo moving kade and Chinea puts dead weight lower. I've alwas been a believer that if you have the line up place good base hitters at 8-9 to have 1-2-3 with RBIs chances. Chinea is obv not a good base hitter. And he doesn't have the speed when he is does get a hit.

I'm not going to pretend to know what he meant... or give him the credit.

There's a much bigger difference in fielding from SS to 2nd base. You can sacrifice fielding for batting at SS. You can't at 2nd imo. It's a much easier position.

That needs to be taken with a grain of salt though, as Nola did not get to face the crap teams at the beginning of the season. He was thrown in against the SEC schedule.

Its not dumb at all. He can only play two positions, DH and 1st. And he's a terrible first baseman.

To put your best team out there he really needs to DH. Luckily for him Fraley has been struggling a bit too so you can make an argument for Chinea at DH over Fraley at the moment.

I'd go Fraley personally but i understand an argument for Chinea. However, any argument to sit him doesnt come close to being dumb.

Or... now this may seem crazy to you... you put good hitters at 1-2 and let 3-4-5 hit them in? Since they get more ABs and all. Just an insane thought maybe.

Kade doesn't need to be 7 either. I like him at 5. And with Chi at 8, that's plenty of space between your two slowest guys. But if Chi is out with KRob at 2B and Foster DHing, you increase your speed and number of guys on base which leads to more runs.

down boy...just discussion, everyone voicing an opinion.

in some cases downright silliness, but still their opinion.

on the bright side, we could be Ark fan wondering if we're going to make the SEC tourney

Agreed.

And that's what I'm doing. Probably could have gone without that line though I guess...

I wanted Bregman to bat 5th after our 12th game... :|

That's why I said if you have the line up. We have 4 really good on base speed guys. Maybe 5. Our 1-2-3 is already there. I think they are the best. Your next 2 are the ones I'm talking about.

Everyone here is having a normal discussion except the guy who only cares about BAwRISP and doesn't like OPS because it weighs OBP too much over SLG

That's why I prefaced that with as long as he is hitting .250, meaning it must continue. Up the middle defense is too important.

Still a normal conversation. The Cards manager used it heavy last year and it helped him a bit.

Yes. Kade is much better 8 than Chinea is my point. He gets on base more.
