repost of everything in the other thread....

I'm open for some rotation, but a few things need to be permanent at least for a while:
1) Breg, Hale, Sciv should be 3-4-5 (or 2-3-4 would be fine)
2) Kramer should play 2nd and bat 9th
3) Chinea needs to be batting 7th or 8th as the DH only IF he MUST play for whatever reason that seems to be.
eta: I'll put this here once again...

Among 10 position players (leaving Pap off for now. In my made up qualification line he doesnt have enough plate appearances):
OPS: 9th
OB%: 8th
AVG: 7th
Slugging: 9th
GPA: 9th
OPS: 9th
OB%: 8th
AVG: 7th
Slugging: 9th
GPA: 9th

Of course others matter. But I want my hot risp hitter with more chances to drive in runs. I want him to be right behind the highest OB%. Not sure how you don't get that. I'm idiotic because a player who score a Risp half the time. Better than any other player we have. You guys would rather have a .400 batter with .200 risp average than a .280 with .500 risp average. That's absurd. I want runs I don't want hits. And I know RBIs are a good judge of it but the risp average is better.

dude...
I think tomo night we will see CPM true intentions for the lineup going into SEC play. KS might feel more comfortable batting down, as was evidenced last year when his avg fell off at 4.

Kramer at the plate is just downright atrocious. I would almost sacrifice 1 error / game w/ Foster and leave Chinea in...no?
I guess you would probably be surprised to see the difference in Kramer and Chinea's OPS.

Tearing up with all those runs. Hells yea.

quote:At 9th, no one's asking him to hit the cover off the ball. He needs to get on base and turn the lineup over. He has a higher OBP than Zardon, Chinea, and Fraley. And he's hitting .250... a number that EVERYONE who commented on him said he needed to hit to be valuable and stay in the lineup.
Kramer at the plate is just downright atrocious
But you keep on sheeping.

BA w RISP is a dumb stat. josh has already provided a link with proof of this. It's hilarious that you rely on it solely.

What Kramer brings to the field could be the difference in a game at some point. He gets on base at a .362 clip, currently higher than Fraley, Zardon, and Chinea. The 2015 ball has changed the game to an extent, but this isn't the 90s. Pitching and defense are still going to win you games at TDA when it counts. If Kramer gets in there and sniffs the Mendoza, then you make the change back.

He'd get more time at 2B if PM wasn't dead set on DHing Chinea

I'm not sure i think it's dumb. It's just overvalued.
And the guy who keeps bringing it up acts like if Chinea was moved down to 8th he somehow would never come to the plate with runners in scoring position anymore.
Also his BA with RISP is a pretty small sample. About 1/3 of the size of his total at bats. So it needs to be taken with a bit of a grain of salt.

I'd say OPS is dumber. Over weighs OB%.

Kramer has been ok at the plate too recently. Last 3 games he's:
2-2 with 2 BB
0-1
1-2
Very small sample size but I think if you combine this with how Foster has looked at second it's time to give him a chance at another start at 2nd.
But Foster still needs to be in the lineup. Sit either Fraley or Chinea.
