he threw the best deep ball of last season against arkansas in the back of the endzone and he threw several good ones vs. GT

Which is why I said I chose this option...

or it could simply have been that they didn't want to risk huge mistakes on the road in his first start of the season and crush what little confidence the offense may feel having him under center after last year.

More. Did anyone see the last drive? JJ looked like a stone cold killer. I was worried that we would run up the middle three times and put, but instead the coaching staff put the offense in a position to win the game and Jefferson executed to perfection in a hostile environment.

the last drive was creative

LSU could run a zone read option only offense and win ball games

You want a link to proof of this statement?

The ONLY thing that worries me about the QB play was why was Les Miles treating him with such kit gloves. What does he he know that we don't? What does JJ not know that we think he does?

Other than that there wasn't a darn thing about his execution that worries me.

I feel better about one thing about his play. Before the game he had 2 games with few mistakes and now he has done it again so I feel even more confident that he won't be a burden to the offense... if he is utilized more.

Not being critical of the coaching actually, becaue I HOPE they were just not wanting his confidence deminished in a game we were suppose to win without going all freaky on offense.

I dont think anyone outside the few of yall whove been blowing JJ since the peach bowl were (key word here) OVERLY impressed with him.

That being said can only speak for myself but im certainly not disaapointed in his play.

As I said earlier...he'll get anouther shot in 4 days.

The play calling wasn't that different Saturday night than against Georgia Tech.

The main difference was the play of the OL.

No...I got the impression he didn't seem to learn form his mistakes LAST SEASON while he was throwing pick after pick from off of his back foot. It got to the point where you would start looking down field with the expectation of the ball being picked when he'd launch one off balance. If he's learned that lesson in the offseason, awesome. If/when he's needed again I'll be happy to see this improvement.

FWIW, I lay most of the blame for Lee's poor play last year at the feet of the coaching staff. Continually they asked too much of him and placed him in HORRIBLE positions where the risk of failure was high. While I'm glad that JJ is playing instead of Lee (given the only thing was as fans have been able to see) I do think the kid handled himself extremely well last year in the face of adversity and I hope he gets a chance to redeem himself.

Considering it is a new season?
Discussing Jefferson improved from last to this season yet you are still comparing Lee to last season?

Odd huh?
