The narrative this week is that they only look at last week's games, past record be damned!

That is not the narrative at all. No one has ever said “only last weeks game”. The narrative is “blank slate each week and judge the entirety of the schedule including the most recent game”

Not saying I believe that. But, it is never said that only last weeks game count.

This seems like double speak. How can one simultaneously say we are going to start with a blank slate, but then also include all of the past? Doesn’t make any sense.

Of course it makes sense. A team that has a back loaded schedule may be rated lower because they’ve not proven anything. This week- they beat a great team.

No reason to keep them low rated because they were the week before. “Blank slate” means ranking position. Not as if you know nothing about them at all.

I just find the blank slate comment stupid. All they have to say is, we consider the entire body of work each week.

A blank slate each week will help LSU. Beating UGA should get us to 1.

Sure but if we can’t beat GA, we wouldn’t beat Ohio State and possibly Clemson.

We arent losing...especially to Georgia. This will be another Auburn game but without the red zone snafu. We win by 2-3 scores.

I doubt we get in with a loss, if Utah beats Oregon. We might get in over The B12 winner but it would be close.
Regardless, we want the SEC Title!

Historically, late losses, even conf champ games, have hurt more than early losses.

The CFPPC "reserves the right" to make assessments of progress. If your last data point is down, that is a decline; you don't have the opportunity to show it was anomaly like you would in week 6.

Oregon and Bama losing gave us a little insurance. But losing to UGA does put us in a crowded field of 1-loss teams, at least one of them (OU/Baylor) will be a conf champ and UGA will be a conf champ, in this scenario.

I don't think the cmte would do it, but the door is definitely open in that scenario. It's best to beat the absolute dog shite out of UGA, get that pennant, hope for #1 and play in Atlanta two weeks in a row against Utah/OU/Baylor... if we can.

Only if OSU loses too. Since apparently they're better than us in the eyes of the committee that'll put clemson, OSU, UGA at 1, 2, and 3. Then we're battling for spot number 4 with oklahoma. Baylor, and Utah. I still think we should get #4 but that's way too close for comfort

Eta: i guess it doesnt matter if osu loses. I need coffee

I agree with that. Out of the 4, UGA is the most inferior

Since the committee is against the SEC and in love with the big 10, we will drop out

Actually they have been saying the top 3 are locked in pretty much regardless unless there is just some massive collapse
