Not only does Miles not match scheme to personnel, we literally do NOTHING to attack opponents weaknesses on offense or defense

Other than the DBs, I don't see many talented players on Defense. I get that many of them had 4 stars by their names, but I'm not seeing it. DEs are average at best, DTs just aren't very good at all, LBs not doing much.

The most surprising to me is the OL and TEs. They were solid last year(same players mostly) and cannot block in this new scheme. It isn't all just the play calling.

Agreed. It's as if we've decided that The Laws of Football Physics simply do not apply to us. It's a kind of hubris that may have infected our culture or something. Listening to Coach Miles talk about scheme and performance is like listening to Obama plead about how great the economy is. It just doesn't ring true.

The defense isn't good, but when the offense puts them on the field over and over with 3 and outs you can't really expect a much. Offense should be an easier fix than defense since many teams with subpar talent can generate offense through scheme. But you sure can't be bad on both sides of the ball and win much.

This. I think that the problems on offense can be corrected. We've seen what Harris can do when he's on. The defense on the other hand is horrific, and has been bad for the past 2 years. I'm not sure the defensive issues can be corrected, at least not this season.

Coaching is archaic and clueless.

The talent isn't top notch in all areas as it used to be.

Player development, especially on defense, is severely lacking.

Yes.

The talent is there

Hmmmmm. Dunno. Certainly individual talent is there at skill positions, but if there's no coherent scheme or effective utilization of talent, what does it matter? We may as well be recruiting the best hockey players from Alberta if we can't use them.

But back to the point, I think we've missed on recruits in a big way--esp on the lines.

Yeah, keep hoping. The negatigers were bound to look like Chicken Littles until they didn't. That day is upon us.

We only score 7 points so if the defense held AU scoreless after their second drive we still would have lost

This entire team is bad on both sides of the ball

Too young and weak offensive and defensive lines.

Long season ahead
