Does anybody have the year by year SEC breakdowns of penalties by team. For some reason I seem to remember Bama and Auburn were the least penalized for several years running (across multiple coaches).

I could be making that up though

Valid concern considering the way LSU got fricked out of wins in Alabama in 2007 and 2005 and 2003 and 2001.

yeah, well opposing teams ARE penalized way more than bama at bryant denny consistently. Can you explain that? You think SEC refs are competent? yes on no? Just give me a yes or no,no BS. hey wait, you are that ref from that other board huh? I won't expect an answer then.

62zip- LSU overcame a 14 for 130 to 2 for 15 penalty margin in 2007.

The refs did not help our cause.

14 to 2. How many times does that happen and you still win?

Could you provide us with the statistical analysis that backs your assertion please?

Thanks in advance.

It's not their job to "help LSU's cause" is it?

But if the foul count isn't in perfect balance, then I guess something fishy is going on.

It would have been nice though of LSU hadn't been fricked out of victory in every trip to Alabama in this decade.

Oh wait....

maybe its a good thing there was controversy in the tenn game for them. the refs might feel the spotlight is on them to make the correct calls.

That's a good point since normally they couldn't give a shite about making "the correct calls."

14 to 2 is not close to "perfect balance".

Do you think 14 to 2 is close to perfect balance?

Just to be clear, are you telling me that if there is a spread in the number of accepted penalties that means that there is something fishy going on?

Remember in 2007, we had a huge lead but wasted it and so when Bama got close...lots of penalty started to fly our way.
Dude, LSU likely won that game BECAUSE two calls went our way, one was an overturned call on an incomplete Bama pass, that was a borderline call, and very generous for LSU. Quit smoking the funky Comadina.

Evidently the concept of Bama getting breaks from SEC officials is not new. I did a quick search and found this in less than 5 seconds from an Auburn site - 2007 season. Has some interesting data:
