Justin Jefferson and Chase would be fine in the slot
Disagree on Jefferson. He’s a long strider that takes a while to get going.
I think Chase could handle it although I think he’s more suited for the outside.

Every receiver on the team is dropping passes. We really don't have a sure handed receiver I trust on the team.

If a player time and time again cannot make routine plays that his position is expected to make....its time to give someone else the opportunity. GTFO of here with your high moral BS. If the player doesn't want to be "ripped on"....then do your job and catch the ball. It irks me that this guy had the balls to ask for #7 and then goes out there and performs how he is...irks me also that O didnt give it to someone that had earned it in a tiger uniform as well.

Jefferson would be the best slot guy on the team if that’s how they wanted to use him. Best route runner we have

that is sorting itself out. He has some game. He is off to a slow start. the coaches are certainly a better judge than us

I dont think we bench him. But his playing time needs to go down significantly. He does play tentative when returning punts. He does play out of the slot with crossing routes and slants and can not catch the ball. He gets no separation. He is not as "quick" as advertised. He might be fast but he is not quick. Dillon and McMath should be taking his spot. On punt returns and offense. Both guys are better suited for the slot than him and I would love to see Dillon on punt returns. As far as the #7 goes. It is a terrible situation as a whole. He should have never asked for the number and they should have never even thought of giving it to him. I am pretty sure he will not have that number next year but I am certain they will not take it away from him in the middle of the season.

people keep saying this but his drops have been terrible because he's been wide open

You know, now that you say it you are absolutely right lmao. I still stand by statement on he is not quick though. The route running and on punt returns he looks like he is running in wet cement.

We've had great WRs struggle with catching the ball that both went on to have multiple success years in the NFL (D.Bowe and B.LaFell). Trey Quinn had the drops too and was undersized like Giles. Quinn is in the league and on the 53 man roster.
Giles needs to break out of the slump and he will.
Pro Football Focus: "Of the top 15 most targeted FBS WR's in 2017, Trey Quinn had the highest catch rate (targets deemed catchable), as well as the 6th highest contested catch rate. He also tops the nation in lowest drop rate out of all WR's with at least 80 targets."

Les putting Quinn in the doghouse was one of his more regrettable decisions.

Love trey Quinn. He did drop two, balls against Alabama both first downs. If he catches them we win the game.

A couple times, Giles was open and the pass was thrown 2 feet over his head. Maybe Burrow thought he was throwing to Stephen Sullivan or Dee Anderson.

You don't trust Justin Jefferson and Dee Anderson? I think they have proven to have very good if not great hands.

I wonder how Tyron Johnson would be doing for us. Considering if we never had to get Giles and tyron was doing the same slot and return roles. Former 5 star. Wasn't he the #1 wr too?

Are we benching Giles?
I'll consider benching him but I'm not making any promises.
I do not plan to take him off of punt returns.

Wish he'd have stayed. Loved the play where he highpointed that bomb from Harris against UF, shook off the defender and scored what became the winning touchdown.

If he scores the game winner against the gumps he will be the best thing going......but as it stands, sorry but he sucks. We have to have better on the bench. Plus seems like he is back to fair catch punts, he has what something like 50 return yards in three games?

You should study up about dissing a player who is working his arse off to play the best he can.
