Seriously I may be tripping but it looks as if we are running some version of the triple option. And I LOVE it!!! What y’all think???

I mean, it's not the veer but if you want to get technical sure RPO's are by definition an option offense.

We are a honey badger team now. We take what we want.

nowhere near an option team. I actually feel like we rarely run any RPOs as well.

Yep. Not triple option, though. I don't find it at all conincidental that when we really started to lean on the option concepts, Daniels looked much better as they play to his strengths.

As I've been saying, less 2019 LSU, more 2011 Oregon.

I guess we are switching the pitch for the little route mason is running. Idk but it definitely looks like the triple option

Some of the plays they run is the modern day triple option where the “pitch” option is the short pass to the TE/slot receiver.

It’s a good hybrid of RPO and spread option concepts.

It is called the RPO for Run Pass Option...

and then there also is the Read Option that we run.

I think it's time for you to accept the fact that we aren't running a fricking triple option and stop posting this every 10 days!
Look up "triple option offense", look up "RPO", and look up "Zone Read".
Is Emory Bellard you granddaddy, dufus?

Sort of. The nuances to how coaches use these dual threat QBs defy easy categorization. The underlying principle of putting defenders in a no-win situation by overloading one assignment with multiple threats and deferring the choice of threat until the assignment commits is the same as you’d see in any “triple option” scheme, it’s just a very tactically different approach to that principle.

I don't think so. Looks like we do a straight drop back (actually straight shotgun snap) most of the time.

There is no pitch man in what we do; a true triple would have a dive back and a pitch man.We are now doing " what we do" very well.

The switch to more RPOs, zone reads and designed QB runs on early downs is the biggest key to our offensive turnaround.

I disagree in that these plays aren’t the only reason for the offense improving. These same plays weren’t working as well when we did run them early in the season because defenses were crowding the box because Daniels wasn’t throwing intermediate and long distances.

These plays taking off went hand in hand with Daniels starting to throw the ball downfield more, which really started in the second half of the UT game and really took of vs UF. The spacing created by a credible threat of downfield passing allows the designed QB runs, RPO and zone read to work so much better. It’s no surprise that the run game with the backs has also greatly improved thanks to this spacing. It all goes together.
