I've looked almost all the websites and found it's $500+ to go to Morgantown. Am I missing something here? Why so expensive??

If you fly into Pittsburgh it is so much cheaper...only a 50 minute drive to Morgantown.

Pittsburgh, not DC. It's over a 3 hour drive from DC. I should know. I drive through Morgantown on my way to Columbus from the DC area for Ohio State home games.

It's doable from DC, but Pittsburgh is much closer.

They charge more to fly into small out of the way places like Morgantown.

Or you could sign up for the credit card in the link below. 75,000 bonus miles after you spend $4,000 in 6 months. I believe it takes 25,000 miles to fly there. Must use the link on the page that loads. You can choose visa or american express. Offer expires 2/28/2011

Southwest flys to Pittsburgh I believe. Have to go to their website. They don't do search engines

Dude,

Fly to Pittsburgh and rent a car. Can't speak for flights from BR but it's under $300 from ATL. Already got my hotel in Morgantown; Waterfront Place.

I looked into chartering a plane from BTR to Clarksburg (closest airport that can handle anything bigger than a business jet) and then selling the seats...it was about $800/head for the plane charter alone...

anyone interested?

Morgantown is also severely limited in hotels. Unless you like shitholes.

You do realize those frequent flier miles are "reserved" for about 2 1/2 seats for any given flight...in other words they are VERY difficult to use, particularly for any kind of destination associated with a given sporting/cultural event !!

if the flights to Pittsburgh fill up, then look into CMH, CLE, BWI, and IAD. All are about 3.5 hours away. Pittsburgh is by far the closest though, obviously

see yall there!

ETA - forgot about Charleston. Try that too

You fly delta to ATL, then to Charleston. It is about 2-3 hours from Charleston. Otherwise, you can fly to Pittsburgh, whicni is closer, but flights may be a little more expensive.
I do it all the time. There are cheaper flights.
