I like the Eye of the Tiger. I wish it was incorporated onto more things, especially to the New ESPN LSU logo that took the Tiger head off.. I don't like the logo only being a font. Good the way it was before.

I never understood it being off-center, but I always liked how that eye looked.
Then they went to this...
And recently to this...
Oh, and ECU is the only one that comes close for me.

I like the eye. I can't believe anyone who knows LSU is the tigers can't figure out it is the eye of the tiger. Maybe I'm getting old.
Everyone else is playing for second best. I do like FSU's seminole they do, but the downside is it's FSU.

Does anyone know when it first appeared? What year or game? I'd imagine that it caused quite a stir on its first appearance

I'm going to take a guess that is was around 1987 when the "eye" first appeared. As pointed out, it was actually on the 45-yard line (not the 50).

1983 according to this article.

I was off by several years ... looks like it was 1991 when the "eye of the tiger" first appeared.

Here's how strongly I feel about it. Not only is it the best field logo, I would love for it to replace the cartoonish Toonces Tiger as our official logo. If an item has that Tiger eye on it I am interested in buying it.

The eye is unique, I love it. Must stay. Now the helmets and unis can change and would be pleased.

funny thing is our pops up whether you search best or worst field logos

Yes, that Rocky movie really bombed. Can't believe they made 6 of them because nobody ever watched them.
it looks ok, but this is exactly why i dont like it. all it does is remind people of some shite song from 1982.

the eye is too abstract and no one but tiger fans know what the hell it is
I know it's a tiger eye, and I've never had to ask anybody what in the hell the mid-field logo is.
How did I figure it out?

The Eye is by far the best...in fact, I don't know of the entire field looking better than it does now. Is the Eye incorporated into bball anywhere?

To my knowledge, not at all.

Thx, let's get it into the bball somewhere...court, etc with all the new-found energy the men and women programs have. Just in time for TV in Jan. with SEC games.
