yet year before last when rumors surfaced that Saban may have been coming back if Miles went to UM, the same individuals were as giddy as little school girls.

I really hate when people stretch the truth or lie to fit an agenda or argument. VERY few people were saying they would rather have Saban over Miles at that time. They were however expressing hopes in securing Saban --->IF<--- Miles were to have left for another job. IT WAS NEVER ABOUT A CHOICE BETWEEN THE TWO.

When our QB throws wild and inaccurate passes, can't find wide open receivers, or throws drive killing interceptions, who's fault is that?

When our defensive players miss tackles, who's fault is that?

When our players act like thugs and get kicked off the team, who's fault is that?

After all this pondering, what are your answers?

Was that a cut and paste from the old Geaux Board in 1999?
It sounds very familiar.

Talk about a circular argument.

am not saying he is all bad, but he defenses at UT were lit up several times over the last several years.

Yeah...Saban never had his defense lit up at LSU...your lack of objectivity is glaring.

You implied that it was a choice or preference issue between the two coaches. That is an outright lie.

Talk about a bogus argument.

Who, in your opinion, is a better defensive coach...Saban or Chavis?

Who, in your opinion, has a better defense this year, LSU or Bama?

Loaded question. You are comparing a first year D cordinator to a 3rd year at thier respective schools?

Different styles but both very effective. Most of Chavis' down years can be attributed to poor offensive production keeping them on the field. I personally like Sabans style because it is bold and aggresive.......but thats not based on some statistic, it's just a personal preference for me.

In the end, if Miles was going to hire and offensive coach/recruiting coordinator to replace Henson, I'd have rathered a QB coach instead of TE coach.

I've never, ever realized this before.

A tight ends coach??????????????

Instead of a QB coach.

That's cwazy.

You have Miles, the offensive line guru her at LSU who consistently has underachieving o-lines. The only thing he is supposed to be an expert at is the weakest position on this year's team.

+1

In fact, your entire reply presents simply what many of us have ineffectively tried to convey.

The way I look at it the coaching staff is first of all responsbile for acquiring players = A for Miles and staff ---- don't forget talent is NOT automatic. Bo Pelinni was a great defensive hire by Miles. Chavis is a great hire by Miles along with Cooper with the DB's an time will prove this. Crowton has a great O mind, but needs to throttle his experiments. Porter and McCarthy are excellant coaches. So I say this coaching staff does very well (last season was a freak for 2 reasons - the defense was lost and our freshman AB threw 16 interceptions - 7 for TD's and didn't start every game). All in all I think our staff is as strong as any in the SEC and Miles' record proves this. Lastly, measuring talent is just like the NFL draft- you take cahnces based on evaluation, and many players just don't work out.

If you look at many of our losses last year, it was because of a poor defensive scheme from coaching to defensive play calling and unstable quarterback play. My only qualm with Miles is his choice for the co-coordinators. Other than that, I like the coaching.
