I think for most it's the issue that as tiger fans, we don't want to see our tigers struggle. As long as Miles is at the helm, we should support him and our players. If the powers that be decide to make a change, I think there would be a lot of support by the fans to do so...because again, we want the best for our team.
Some people say when Miles came on he "took the keys to a Ferrari" referring to the team. I see no reason to believe that won't be true for the next coach talent wise. Miles is NOT a great game day coach or clock manager, but he can recruit very well. Some negatigers think he is destroying the program. I disagree. The program is intact, it just isn't performing to its potential.

2 years of an inexperienced quarterback will turn supporters to haters.

LSU should have matched the Miami $$$ - or close to it.
PERIOD.
LSU could have been a dynasty team. Now it'll be Alabama.
Saban is clearly >>>>> Miles in terms of coaching.

For the most part, this.

Nonsense. Jarret Lee could've started for Nick Saban last season and Nick would still have that team 12-0. Jordan Jefferson could've started for Nick Saban this season and Nick would have that team 13-0. Quarterbacks make no difference whatsoever; it all comes down to the ability of the coach.

Pretty much spot on. You can call me an idiot or say that I have a man crush on little nicky but I fully expect bama to beat us next year and at least 75% of the time as long as he is coach at bama.

I am an LSU alumnus and ardent Tiger fan. I support my team, my school and my coach. If that makes me a "Miles supporter," I'm OK w/ that. What does that make a "Miles non-supporter"? In my book, that makes you not an LSU fan.

Does your analysis ever go beyond this?
You really are a one trick pony.

I want you to pretend for a second you were born and raised a Bama fan. You just went 16-0 in the regular season and 17-1 overall in the SEC the last 2 years. You won every regular season SEC game and demolished a team in the SEC Championship. Here are these LSU fans who keep talking trash about how they are going to win the SEC West next year (and the last 2 years they went 8-8 and 0-2 against you). You also return the heisman trophy winner, your junior QB, and your best receiver. Think about this. Are you a delusional LSU fan and Miles supporter. What makes you think we will be in the West race next year? Honestly ask yourself why you would feel this way other than being a die hard fan.
Dude go be a Bama fan its ok. It's very clear that your reasons for not liking Miles are all based on imagining being a Bama fan. Go be one, its ok.
Do you see your problem, peopleschamp?

So do you propose just giving up? What if we just shut down the football program all together, right?

Wasn't Alabama supposedly rebuilding?
No. Never heard even one talking head make that inaccurate statement. 'Bama had been a top 5 team with 10 victories just the season before Shula was let go. The cupboard had plenty of good players for Saban and he has done well with them as well as his recruits the last two seasons.

UA has to replace its entire defensive line and half of its linebackers. Ingram is no lock to stay given the state of the NFL's labor talks. That's why.
Posted on 12/13/09 at 3:47 pm to Macavity92
Saban is running out of Shula's players and really........the odds and histor say.....he's due to lose some games the next few years.
LSU will be better and Miles will make the needed adjustments to right this ship.
Now go back to being a Bama fan and enjoy the rest of this year.........your time is coming

It does make one wonder what the Miles bashers would have LSU do, huh.
I mean, the man is the LSU football coach and he is not going to get released for at least 2 yrs unless he pulls a Tiger Woods.
I guess some people just enjoy the pizzing and moaning of life rather than cheering for a nationally ranked program.

Did I hurt your feelings? Go to CVS and get some tampons.
If you can possibly explain to me how being 5 games out from the SEC west crown and 3 games out the next season should be just blindly accepted, I'll listen.
Until then, all I see from you sunshine pumpers is Miles overall record and calls to blindly ignore any trends because you have prayed on it and your hopes will come true. It's fricking brilliant. Might as well write it on your list to Santa with the fantasyland you morons live in.
You can't say, hey the team hasn't looked very good in most of the games this season because that can't be substantiated. You also can't use records with splits and trends because for some reason that's not valid either.
So basically it's just close your eyes because fantasy trumps reality. Well, maybe when I send my TAF donation and pay for my season tickets I'll sign your name to the check. I can hope and pray that you'll pay for it.
I've used just about every angle I can to get through to you analytically challenged fools. But I'm a one trick pony. It's more to the point that you are too stupid to analyze anything. Miles is the coach so he must be doing a great job. When in fact, from Ole Miss to performance on the field this season, to the horrid defense last season, to the losing SEC record for the first time since 1999 last season, to the 8-8 SEC record the last 2 seasons, to the 14-10 SEC record the last 3 seasons is more than enough reason for valid concern.
But go ahead and stick your head in the sand.

LSU had an upward trend from 05-07. In 08 a correction took place and the trend moved downward. In 09 another correction took place and the trend moved upward again.
So, the prevailing trend during the last 5 yrs is an upward one.
