I dont understand how anyone who has watched LSU this year could want GC back. Unorganized, no direction, plain awful. Damn, we are at the bottom of the SEC and NCAA in stats. I dont care who we have a have at QB, we should not be competing with Vandy for 12th in offense!
I'm a kool-aid drinker, and I agree with your post.
In fact GC has followed the pattern he's followed at almost every one of his other coaching gigs. Start strong, fade fast.
Thanks for 2007...but it's time for a change.

Gary deserves another year. LSU ranked #106 in total offense this year, but with another year's practice, Gary might break into the 110's. It will be hard work, but I think Gary can do it.

not an underclassman. two first year starting qbs at the ages of 19 and 18. and jlee has improved at the position, he's just lost all his accuracy, from not playing. and jj just led your team back two weeks in a row to put you in position to win games against pretty good teams. they're developing well, and when jj leaves it wont be as bad because it wont be an 18 year old starting in his first year in college football. even god himself tim tebow lost 3 games in his first regular season as a starter, and lost the bowl.

Chicken, you really hate Crowton, don't you?

Damn...
bad OL=bad QB play, bad QB play makes bad OL look worse, a bad OL and bad QB play= killer for the OC
GC is the offensive coordinator and he is responsible for the QB position. Maybe he should have recruited another QB instead of relying on Harvard transfer. We have enough talent that a good coordinator should be able fit a scheme to have us playing better. I'd be shocked if GC is retained.

I would hope they are numbered...look at his record and not just at LSU . When people on here speak out about a player or coach its not directed towards them personaly..I think crowten is a great guy and doing the best he can...its just not good enough for the tiger fans and players. We won this year because of defence and not because of the offence. With a good ofence we would have beaten florida, alabama and ole miss.

hoping this was said with mucho sarcasm. This guy absolutely sucks. Did less with a whole lot of talent than most OC's could ever hope for. shite

My hunch is GC is back next year.
GC did not forget how to coach offense. He coached he highest producing ppg offense in LSU history in '07. Difference is he needs a top notch qb. Matt Flynn fit that bill and we are yet to replace Matt Flynn with an equivalent player.
Can JJ become that player next year? Don't know. But he has a greater chance to become that player in his Junior year than he did this year. If he does not I suspect Chris Garrett will see playing time quite early.

He has NOT developed Lee like a top-tier OC should have - look @ what Jimbo Fisher was able to get out of Josh Booty his Sr. year.

they're developing well,
I do believe they are developing, but not well enough or nearly at the pace that would contend for any type of championship in the next two years.
Saying that, it's remarkable that we were so beaten on the line, outgained by nearly everyone we played, and won 9 games to date.

They will not be replaced until after the bowl game so they can get a bonus check.

I have heard all the excuses. Young QB's, offensive line problems, running back injuries. You create schemes to fit the talent you have. I don't buy the lack of talent or inexperience BTW, not at all but even IF it were tru Crowton had plenty of time to adapt to the personnel and run an offense suited to the personnel.
Like last season with the defense, LSU's offense kept trying to do what Les Miles and Crowton wanted despite repeated failure to succeed. Last game of the year? Same thing as the first it never changed.
Look at Utah vs Bama last year. Inferior talent, great zone blocking and general offensive scheme. Crowton had all season, two seasons really to adapt and make something fit the talent and has failed miserably.

Even in Crowton's best year we had a shite load of burnt time outs due to the play clock, illegal procedures, and false starts.
