I got really bad news for you dude, if Orgeron goes 10-2 the next two years he's not getting fired. Sorry.

I can't wait for that dumb fricker to get on here and call for jimbo to replace O after O wins 11 and jimbo wins 7 this December. If I'm here I'm pulling this thread up.

If he goes 10-2 this year and follows it up with a ho hum 8-4 season, Orgeron will be gone.

Woodward wouldn’t have even interviewed a guy like Orgeron. He won’t sit on his thumbs while the sixty year old continues to try to learn from his mistakes after four and a half years of his second chance after one of the worst tenures in SEC history in his first chance.

Sumlin beat Bama in his first year, and he's fired now.

And where’s Sumlin now and how many more times did he beat Saban without a heisman winning QB that got lucky on 2-3 throws that game?

Of, you answered your own question, dummy

You're wrong.

Sorry, but Orgeron will be your coach for a while.

If he keeps losing to Bama, he'll be gone in 3-4 years regardless of what his record is.

Have we become so accustomed to settling for 2nd and 3rd in the west (btw Jimbo finished 2nd in the west in his 1st year with another coaches players) that talk of getting a stud coach is quickly debunked by saying a 3-loss year is acceptable? And its improvement? And its moving in the right direction? Its not folks, its what we had

If you want to start firing coaches because they are only winning 9-10 games a year then there will not be a single coach with options that will want to coach here.

You people are so hung up on this. Woodward wouldn't have interviewed Dabo either.

It's totally inconsequential at this point. Like elections, you need to get over HC hirings.

A one loss season or a no loss season will have him at LSU for at least another 4-5 years.

O appears to have us head in the right direction. I'm not sure why that is so upsetting for some other than they shite on him before and don't want to be wrong. If he fails to take us to the next level this year, then discussions of a change should start. Until then, such discussion is stupid.

Not with a new AD it isn’t.

I don’t disagree at all.

I’ve said all along 11-1 is the bar for success this season.

If he hits that, no one will be complaining because the team would have reached its potential, something that didn’t happen in 16, 17, or 18.

That’s why these topics keep coming up.

Orgeron will stand on his record at LSU, and by the season just like every other coach out there. This fantasy y'all have is just amazing.

It's pure fantasy.

You may not like this, but, objectivelyit’s still too early for a verdict on O. I will say that there are some limits to my expectations.

Realistically, I’m not sure how many “proven elite” coaches are available. Also, what kind of signal does it send if you discharge O now? It reeks of chaos and desperation.

New ADs giving less rope to a coach hired by the previous AD is fantasy, according to Roger.

Orgeron's floor will be the same as anyone else. Pressure to fire coaches usually comes from above the AD position, and it's not done solo.

It's not. No one is calling for his head right now. The OP is questioning those who freaked out at the mere suggestion Woodward would want to bring in his own guy eventually. ADs tend to do that, fair or not.

This topic started on TexAgs because some of their fans see the change as a realistic possibility. Most of us don't right now, but it's not a secret that Alleva was Orgeron's biggest ally. Now that he's gone, these discussions will happen.
