I think this is the sticking point for me.
When Miles was trying his hardest, he was competing for NCs. This is the current coach trying his hardest, and he's barely better than the end of Miles's tenure. I guess we'll see this year if anything changes.
I don't think that being skeptical about that happening makes you a bad fan. But as someone else pointed out, it's all or nothing with some of these fans of the football coach.

Questioning a coach's ability to win titles isnt hate.
There is absolutely zero evidence that O can have sustained success as a coordinator, let alone as HC.

It’s amazing how they try to hold a 2019 fiesta bowl victory over SEC titles or even actual BCS bowl victories. The amount of bending they do to reality is staggering.

Not one single person had made a derogatory or insulting comment about 0, not one yet they must use hyperbolic labels to enforce their narrative. Since it isn’t real every bit of it has to be dressed up and made to look like what it isn’t.

No amount of results can compete with the human imagination.
People imagine all of these accolades and future results with the current football coach, and that's much more exciting to think about than results with others that have already happened.
I've never seen someone praised so much for not really accomplishing anything. He absolutely has a given talent for selling the future. It's probably why he's such an effective recruiter.

He should have never lost that game, and thusly should not be given credit for improving his record.
