I'm ok with a change. Aranda is past due. Need a fresh DC. Only thing that worries me is the recruiting for right now

Did any of them end up signing a coordinator for their HC jobs?
Wow, you know, you’re right.
Arkansas didn’t hire a coordinator to be HC.
They hired an offensive line coach.
If Dave Aranda wanted to be a head coach, Arkansas would have come calling. Arkansas or Missouri would have been jumping for joy and viewing Dave Aranda as a homerun hire.

Somethings up if Dave takes this job. Everything is rolling right, the staff is pushing out committed players for better players and Dave stops the momentum by taking the UNLV job? Makes no sense.

If he takes that job, it's evidence that O wanted him gone.
Which I don't think is at all crazy. I think it was evident early in the season that LSU needed to play a more attacking style of defense -- that it was a poor strategy to just keep everything in front of you, tackle, and wait for the offense to make a mistake. That strategy left our defense tired and useless at the end of games.
I think that Coach O had to overrule Aranda and force us to blitz and attack more, which is the correct strategy to get our defense off the field. Blitzing and attacking gets the defense off the field, because you either generate a negative play or a turnover (or at least get a 3-and-out) or you give up the big play and allow the opposing offense to score. But either way, you get your defense off the field and prevent the horrible time-of-possession disparity that we saw early in the season.
Aranda didn't adjust after the Texas game, when he should've figured this out. It really didn't happen until the Arkansas game, and you could tell that O was upset by it.
So, yeah, I am totally capable of believing that Aranda doesn't want to run the style of defense that our high-powered offense dictates that we run. I firmly believe that there was tension this year between Aranda and O.
If it happens, it's not surprising at all.

Got to start somewhere as a HC. He has no experience

Lol that’s what you think? You think a coordinator doesn’t make adjustments and scheme throughout the entire game?
You don't think Orgeron could make those adjustments? I'm curious, because Orgeron is a defensive Coach. Everyone thinks Ed walks on water so he and Busch couldn't coordinate the defense for 2 games?

Not when it's a few weeks before a title run with early signing day next week.
This is the worst possible time for this to be happening.

So your not worried more about the playoff games we are about to play that could win us a championship?

I agree. This is either BS being made up for reasons we dont know or if he takes the job O wanted this. None of this is really adding up and smell funny.

Aranda has involvement on 1-2 players in recruiting..... everyone has an inflated sense of what he does.

I’m telling you O is about to hire Clancy Pendergast and we are about to run a 4-3/5-2 defense with a lot man coverage and blitzing. Similar to when he was at USC.

No, because he will finish the year with us. He ain't going to leave tomorrow

They should put a clause in that coaches can’t interview for any jobs until after the season ends unless they are fired mid season

Speaking of Bo - how much is he making right now?
Posted on 12/10/19 at 6:16 pm to OchoDedos
No I don’t think Ed could do as well as Aranda with such limited time. O has enough shite to worry about and manage. This would totally disrupt the continuity without Aranda for the playoffs. If he is leaving I’m sure he will stay for the playoffs though

According to the morons on this board he sucks.

Smart man..... aranda didn’t change the scheme magically 3 weeks ago. O got way more involved and had Busch with him. The relationship has taken a hit over the last year. This is a change being forced on Aranda.

Pretty sure taking a job with Arkansas or Missouri would force him to pay money back from his contract, as there was a clause prohibiting him from taking a job within a certain distance of LSU.
