He will take a job this offseason

I think he would do better in the NFL; better players, more sophisticated schemes, less turnover.

To the mentally enfeebled, perhaps. To people with a baseline of cognitive function ranking slightly above that of a Tse Tse Fly and above, no. No, it does not look as if the defense slipped this season because he was focused on job shopping.
Losing a starting Safety-in the season opener-in a year where you designed a base on Defense around 3 Safety looks was a challenge. Losing multiple Defensive Lineman in the middle of the Texas game & having to sit them to get healthy was also an issue. Losing a blossoming player like Justin Thomas on the DL compounded difficulties. Having the returning SEC Leader in QB Pressure and Senior LB in Divinity leave the team for your stretch run also hurt. Having to wait for the light bulb to go off for a True Freshman in Mo Hampton to play your preferred 3 Safety looks was tough. Playing two true Freshman in Jay Ward and Cordale Flott in huge SEC Road games put an extra strain on the D as well.
Those are all parts of the issue with the D slipping this year.
In the spirit of Christmas, let me give you advice on how to avoid Downvotes and the accompanying ridicule here in an either/or format:
1.) Stop being stupid.
2.) Post more seldomly.

Good. They are plenty of average DC's out there that we can get for less than 2.5 million. BYE!!

He’ll make a good head coach and can do much better than UNLV. It’s a good opportunity for him to showcase his defense in the playoffs.

Has as much energy on the sidelines as a snail in frozen tundra

What attractive jobs could open next year?
S. Carolina?
UThug if Germy Proot tanks?
USC if they finally get rid of Helton?
UDub if Petersen’s replacement doesn’t work out?

I expect Aranda to be the HC at USC, Stanford or UCLA in the next year or two.

If the word is out that he’s legitimately looking next year, then he could get a much better job than the ones on the table a month ago.
Another long shot possibility would be South Carolina THIS year. Early next year to be precise. If they fire Muschamp after 1/1, his buyout goes down tremendously. If offered, I don’t see Aranda saying no to an SEC job, especially one in the East. It’s a long shot, but that’s the only way I see him leaving before next season.
Based on the rumors floating around a month ago, I expect 2020 to be Aranda’s last unless he has a really bad season, and I don’t expect that. It looks like he’s adjusted to the offense and we should have better depth next year if we don’t have injury and suspension problems again.

What do you mean?
I mean when we are paying the head coach top dollar we will not still pay top dollar for coordinators. That was Orgeron's sales pitch, he'd take less money so we can pay coordinators more.
