Doc. Call my boss and say you heard I got an offer. I'll then leverage that rumor against myself for more money.
Meet up at Chelsea's at 6 to celebrate.

How many championships has Chip Kelly ever won?

And we did last year?
And they are likely gonna get stomped worse than we did?
And they were shite before this year, even under Kelly?
I LOVE Brian Kelly. He's a fantastic fricking coach.
Miles is on the same plane though.
This thread is crazy.

Also, what are your thoughts of lsu's 2007 two loss championship?
Notre Dame is undefeated. I don't think they're that good but they played the game right. They deserve to play for the NC.
'07 LSU played the game right and won their conference. They deserved to play in the NC.
Bama had their chance and should've been finished. By Saban's own logic, his team was not one of the two best teams of the SEC, but he got in???
I can't believe that some fans hate Miles that much that they're defending Bama's fluke run to their championship last year. That's disgraceful.

I'm fine with him staying, but a raise is a joke.

It's kinda sad that LSU caved so quick to give an extention and raise... I really don't think LSU would have lost Miles keeping both right where they were. See Les knows he's got the keys to mansion here and I just can't see him deciding to relocate to a rebuild job after being spoiled already.. He's had 2 opprotunities to do so and turned them both down because for as competitive as Les is he's not much for having to try to rebuild then compete esp at a school with very limited recruiting resources. Poor play on LSU's part good play on Miles and his agents...

Godamn!!! Another fricking extension and more money. At this rate in five years he's gonna have a fifty year contract for 500 million dollars! frick! All anyone has to do is cough in his direction and he gets more money and a longer contract.
Y'all don't see a problem with this? Really?

He's paid to be a professor now?

Alleva wanted no part of hiring a new coach. He took the easy route and spent someone else's money. Uncertainty does that to people. I see it with companies all the time.

So your not a good coach unless you win a championship?? Makes a lot of sense.
There are plenty of GREAT coaches out there that havent won a single thing. Alot of them are better than Les at the X's and O's and game managing. There is a lot of average coaches that have won championships too. But to say hes not a good coach because he hasnt won anything is absurd.

He's paid to run a successful program, that includes graduating players.

You mean Gary Patterson, who's about to go 7-5 in his first season in a major conference? Seems legit!

Keep telling yourself that. It's ALL about winning championships. Period. We aren't doing a good job of that presently. While we should have tried to keep him, there's no reason to extend his contract and give him a raise.

You can't be serious?!?
after losing 21 or 22 players for either all or at least part of the season, and still going 10-2 is underachieving.....'tard nation at full throttle!

Go read the Rant for about 10 minutes. You'll see plenty of posters questioning whether Miles is even remotely capable of coaching Pop Warner, neglecting the fact that he has actually led LSU to a championship. So no, I would not say that the only way to judge someone is based on championships; in fact, it is a rather poor way to judge a coach.
Or do people on this board think we should fire Les and go get Gene Chizik? He won a championship more recently, so he's probably more capable.
