Bats were hot for sure, but anything that could have been better? Does JJ give lefties the green light to bunt when everyone is right of short stop?

I’m curious if Jones gets more chances this year.

Bases loaded no outs and we have two pop ups on the infield.

They didn’t shift on Pearson until he had two strikes. I didn’t notice on Beloso.

So while a bunt could work it’s risky on two strikes.

Crews couldn't get a hit out of the infield.

Yep - hit four balls in the infield and reached safely on three of them

Every player on base plus 1 more scored after that and we ended the inning with a runner at first only leaving no runners in scoring position. Would you rather clear the bases with no outs? Of course, but the name of the game is to score and we score 6 runs that inning, 4 after those two outs.

Omaha can be where big flies turn in to outs instead of dingers. Seen it happen many times before. My biggest concern is we are so reliant on those balls leaving the yard.

Only negative is they didn’t do it on Floyd’s start, when all we needed was 1 run with Skenes dealing!!

Damn Southern Insanity, if you look close enough you'll always find a negative or two...

I’ve thought about this a lot lately. We’re going to have to manufacture runs other ways if we get there. Win today first though.

We’ve shown plenty of times that we don’t have the hit a ton of homers to win. We can win with the longball, but it’s not all we can do

Beloso had some crappy ABs but hey, he has been on fire before that.

Only issue I had was with bases loaded and nobody out, we were swinging away when the kid could not throw strikes. He had already walked one. We ended up clearing bases, as noted, but I think we could have shown more discipline and made him throw strikes on those two AB.

We scored 7 runs on plays other than homers yesterday.

Pearson’s 3 outs came from Kentucky sending the 3B to RF once he got 2 strikes and the SS standing behind 2nd. He was trying to go backside all 3 times. I did say when it was 11-0, I’d love for him to attempt to bunt it that way. If it’s foul, who cares?
