On top of that he was

2nd on the team in tackles
2nd in sacks
3rd in INT
3rd in TFL

Wtf are we really talking about here?

While his draft status didn't go up, it didn't go down either. He is a play maker, but a true tweener between a safety and outside linebacker. For these guys to make it, they have to have one thing they are great at and he really isn't. He is just way too small for a linebacker and doesn't possess great speed, which could get him PT, and he doesn't cover well enough to be a safety. His best hope is to be an elite special teams player and stick around long enough to get on the field in small amounts. There have been players with long careers doing just this and making a good paycheck

He has been forced to play a true safety role in 2020 for the betterment of the team. That’s not his strong suit, but

Still

2nd in tackles
2nd in TFL
3rd in sacks

Guy has been a great CFB player. He isn’t an elite prospect but with a good combine he can be a 2nd-3rd round pick

Stevens was an excellent Roamer last year. But has been exposed this year.
Does anyone really believe he's going to be a difference maker on a NFL defense?

Im not here to bash him because he is a very good college player. But last year the opposing OC had to deal with this:

DE Logan Lawrence
NT Shelvin- who was arguably the 2nd best player on the defense in his own right down the stretch.

ILB Phillips Queen

OLB/Edge Chaisson

CB Fulton Stingley Vincent Jr

S Delpit

Stevens shouldve made alot of plays is certainly an argument.

But he did in fact make them so to each their own.

But 2nd best out of these guys? Hum......

You can stat pad all you want, but from the looks of it you’re not convincing me or anyone else that he was the second best player on d last year.

Yea once nfl scouts interview him you can go ahead and add an extra round or two to that figure based off his personality alone. Guice/greedy treatment incoming

Is stat padding = being good at everything?

What does that even mean to you

No. He'll be undrafted, but I don't think he has a place on this team.

He’s a good player, but he won’t be an every down guy in the NFL. He will catch on somewhere as a role player. The problem is that we use him as an every down safety here and he just can’t cover many guys reliably.
