Not really. It was either Tulane in 2001 or The Citadel in 2002.

The first game that I remember in TS was Oregon State in 04

1970. It was cold. We had just moved to Louisiana and my dad got some tickets from his employer. We left the house at 530 for a 7pm kick off. I was 11 years old.

2014 Sam Houston State

Fournette’s first game in TS. He scored and struck the Heisman pose.

You’ll be happy to learn LSU actually won that game.

First game was a Purple and Gold game in the early 70s. My first real game was the 1977 LSU vs. Rice game where LSU won 77-0 and Carlos Carson caught 5 TDs (I think).

Funner fact: there's a school in L.A. called Occidental College, known as "Oxy." I don't think they ever played LSU, but they were also known as The Tigers, until they dropped football during the pandemic year of 2020. Their colors were orange and black. They played in Jack Kemp Stadium, named after former Buffalo Bills QB, congressman, and VP candidate Jack Kemp, who was a star for the Tigers back in the 1950's.
Jack Kemp’s roommate at Occidental was Jim Mora (the elder)

For me, September 15th, 1973

Opening game vs Colorado, we win 17-6

Sideline pass with my Dad (who went to UK with Cholly Mac)

‘89 Tennessee. Sat next to the Tenner band. I asked them if they played anything else in the second quarter.

LSU vs Tulane 2006 was my first game in TS... My dad is a Tulane graduate and played baseball for Tulane. He thought he was going make us greenies.... I went home and filled out the application to go to LSU the next Fall.

1959 LSU vs TCU. Both teams were ranked. LSU won 10-0. Sat in south endzone and watched 2 goal line stands by the tigers. I was 7.

I thought we lost that game 40-35? I remember it was the home opener and a day game, and we did jump out to a 14-0 lead.
The following week we blasted a ranked Washington team 40-14 in front of the (then) largest crowd in DV history - over 83,000.

Anyone remember their 1st game in Tiger Stadium?
I was 7 years old and i figure it was 1970. My Dad took me to a game where we played aTm and we lost. Back then we didnt lose to aTm and in 1970 we did so thats how i figured what year it was. That the first game that I can remember in Tiger Stadium.

That game was played a few weeks after Butch Duhe died of a brain hemorrhage. LSU lost 20-18 on a last-play Hail Mary from Lex James to Carl Roaches. Two Tigers jumped to deflect or intercept it, both missed, and Roaches caught it on the last play and scored :( One of just two losses that year (the other was 0-3 to Notre Dame at South Bend - another missed INT that would have been a pick-six.) We destroyed Ole Miss 61-17 in national TV on Dec. 5 to win the SEC Title, then lost to #1 Nebraska in the Orange Bowl on a late TD 17-12.

I was a Freshman at LSU in 1980. The first home game was a loss to Florida State. That was the only home loss that season. I grew up in Lafayette but we were very poor so I had n option to go to any games prior to being a student there. I had gone to plenty of USL games. Tiger Stadium was like being on another planet in comparison.

It was my first game as well.

My freshman year at LSU. LSU lost 16-0 in Stovall's first game, then shut out Kansas State 21-0 the following week. (May be the only time LSU has been shut out, then shut someone else out the next week).

Battle for the Rag 20sumpin to nothing late 60s- believe it was that Cotton Bowl snub year.
Very first CFB game was also a LSU beatdown of Tulame the year before in the old Sugar Bowl, site of my first NFL game with Kilmer and Abramowicz beating the Steelers.[/quote]

November, 1969. LSU 27 Tulane 0. Everyone was calling this LSU's bowl game since the players rejected an offer to play in the Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl after being offered, then reneged on - a chance to play #1 Texas in the Cotton Bowl in favor of )&**%&&**^&*(*)) Notre Dame. Everyone as saying '62-0...62-0' but it was clearly a let-down game for the players.
If Mac had kicked a game-tying FG vs Ole Miss on November 1 in Jackson, the 9-0-1 Tigers may have officially gotten that Cotton Bowl bid...but they lost and ended up 9-1.

1997 lost to Notre Dame 24-6 and it was a COLD windy day. I believe NBC broadcasted the game. Sitting in the Irish section. My grandpa is a ND alum. He gave me and my dad tickets. Their fans were nice. And they kept joking that it wasn’t cold weather. But it damn sure was.

And then about 3 months later we returned the favor by whipping the Irish in the Independence Bowl 27-9.
