I’m pulling for FSU. I wish we had a player like Flowers. Respect.

I'm not trying to be a smart*ss here, but in all honesty, I don't pull for anyone but LSU, unless LSU is still in it and I'm hoping for a particular matchup.

I especially do not pull for the team that eliminated LSU. I know a lot of people (for some reason) take some sort of solace out of seeing the team that eliminates their team going all the way, because it somehow shows that we don't suck for losing to them.

I don't get that. I don't think LSU sucks for losing to FSU, and I don't feel the tiniest bit of consolation in seeing them beat anyone else. They beat my team. I want to see them lose. I wish all teams aside from LSU could lose every game, because I don't care about those teams.

Mike Martin seems like a nice guy, I suppose. I don't know him, personally. There are other coaches in the CWS who might be nice guys, and maybe this will be the last time they get to Omaha. Who knows? So I don't really get into the sentimental side of it.

someone not named LSU is winning regardless..

so i still have a preference in who i prefer to win any particular time LSU is not still in it..

that's just a part of following sports..

mike martin is such a class act that it is hard not to pull for him in his final season. it's just a respect factor. almost any other time i would be bitter and pissed and not want the team that beat us to win..

i am sort of pulling for texas tech as well, because they are the closest team to me and i don't want to pull for another sec team.

Well I am no fan of F.S.U. in anything but Coach Martin is a class act. I would like to see HIM win it all..

Hard to believe I am pulling for FSU, but yes, hope they win it for Coach Martin; a great career.

I can see it from your angle, though I don't personally feel that way at all. When LSU loses, I don't have any preference other than hoping the team that beat my team loses, and hoping none of our rivals win it (so I agree with you that I don't want another SEC team to win it).

Other than that, I check out when LSU is eliminated. I used to just watch sports for the sake of wanting to watch sports. But, over time, I became less and less interested in anything else that was going on, that didn't involve or affect my team in some way. And I'm now at the point where I have zero interest in games that don't involve my team.

I think the reason for this has everything to do with how my perspective has changed on the importance of sports in the grand scheme of things. I am still an enormous fan of all things LSU, and all my pro teams, but I don't treat like it's all important, as I used to. That has made all other games pretty meaningless to me.

I'm slightly leaning for FSU to win it all but I wish they were not playing Arkansas for 1st elimination. I have no hate for Arkansas because I vacation there about 3 times a year. I've met good people there, but I feel bad for the kid that dropped the series winning foul ball at the end. This year I'll just watch some less stressful competition.

No brainer - despite the 4 SEC teams in the CWS. Also would keep the LSU streak of NCAA baseball champions that took LSU out. Coaching for 40 years and winning 40+ games/year AND not having won a championship is the best reason for FSU to win it all in his last year of coaching. Geaux Noles!

There’s non-LSU baseball being played?

How cute.

Yes, because an ACC sweep of the three major sports is a lovely thought.

Coach Martin has meant so much to college baseball. Last of the founding fathers so to speak.

When I think of the fondest memories I have of college baseball, I think of Skip, Ron Polk, Gene Stephenson, Augie, Mike Martin, Coach Gustafson, Ron Frasier, and Mark Marques.

What a group of coaches who truly made a monumental impact on the growth of the game.
