is there something wrong with the Excalibur Hotel and Casino? I am not familiar with Vegas hotels, but just browsing and I see that the Excalibur seems to be much cheaper than others mentioned in this thread for a stay from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2?

We have rooms at MGM Grand and Luxor.

Almost booked there yesterday. Decided I didn’t want to stay in a Casino. So I booked at the Hilton Vacation Club by the Flamingo.
FYI flights Sat - Wednesday to Vegas from Lafayette are relatively cheap right now with AA. Paid 416 for 2 flights.

I think it’s just an older property.

It's very old and more basic. I've never been there but did research when booking the trip and the universal opinion is it's the worst in the strip.
YouTube is your friend though here there a ton of content out there comparing the options.

I've been to Vegas so many times, been to almost every hotel. I can't recall ever having stepped foot in the Mirage, and I don't know anyone that has stayed there

Its old and sorta shitty. You'll be fine if you just don't care.
I like Caesar's myself, but the Wynn is pretty incredible to stay at too.

Yeah Circus Circus is the absolute worst. Can't believe it still exists

Circus Circus does have a great steakhouse.

Did they add flights ? We booked Delta for Friday night because Saturday was so expensive. We did book 3 months ago though.

The Vdara is in the middle of the strip behind Aria and has no casino. I love that place. We try to get the fountain view room. Views are spectacular.

We are staying at the Palazoo. Thursday morning and taking red eye home Sunday. I think it will be too hot for golf.

That’s per person, in a room that holds four people with two queen beds

Is anyone else staying at Area 51 and flying in on JANET?

It’s considered dated and trashy by people who frequent The Strip.
I’ve never stayed there, but it gets a bad rap.
Only one worse ON The Strip is Circus Circus, which is mostly old people, trailer trash, and Mexicans.

Let's just say we should have done our homework prior to selecting the Excalibur. Originally scheduled to stay for 5 days, we transferred to The Mandalay the next morning! Of course, it is more expensive, but what an immeasurable difference!
