Amtrack is freakin retarded. I looked into going to the game in Dallas by train. Apparently there isn't a train that runs between Houston and Dallas. You would have to go all the way to San Antonio then go up to Dallas. How is there not a train running from Houston to Dallas at least twice a day?

Did it in 2007 and was one of the greatest road trips I ever had. You should leave on Friday though. That way if it's delayed you won't care.
Fwiw I don't remember any delays when I went.

Ive done it many times, it usually takes about an hour slower than a car because of the stops, but you can bring a cooler, they have dinning cars and food cars. Its a pretty fun and very cheap way to go. $70 round trip to Birmingham, so i would guess $60 to Tuscaloosa. " YES, I would recommend this to a friend "

I"ve taken the train to both Tuscaloosa and Memphis. Great time on the train. Able to bring ice chests and made great friends on both trips. Only problem was lack of taxis in Tuscalooser. I would recommend a rental car to be delivered to the train station.
