Anyone else think that Aranda is going to be immensely successful at BU?

Seems to me that the guy has made some pretty nice additions to his staff to help him on the offensive side. He sounds very disciplined as well.
If he can do what Matt Rhule did and play stout defense (which I think we all know he is capable of coaching a team to do that) while piecing together an offense that can score when they need to, I think he is going to do fantastic.
It will be interesting to see how much he picked up from CEO when it comes to letting his coaches do their job, being that he's never been in this situation before. Can't wait to see what he does at BU.

He will always be competing with longhorns and sooners. If you mean he will win a national championship at baylor, it is doubtful.

He's going to be a superstar if he can surround himself with some recruiters/talent.
He's got a crazy work ethic, incredible attention to detail, makes great adjustments usually, and his players love playing for him.

I sincerely hope so, hope we play them down the road

No, but I think he's going to do very well at his next school after he does comparitively well in Waco.

The fact that he'll actually get them to play defense gives them a chance to win the conference. If he can get some of the in-state kids that should either be at Texas or aTm, he could be very successful.

Yes. Dude is incredibly sharp. I’m rooting for him.

These qualities made him a great DC. He needs some leadership skills, recruiting skills, organization and team building skills that may be untested. we shall see, but I wish him the best of luck.

I don’t, he’s not outgoing enough to be a big time HC

All about human capital. The success of any CEO is not only hiring the right people, but empowering them.
The x's and o's stuff isn't going to be an issue with him.

He’ll win the big 12 at some point

It will depend on the players he signs in the coming years. Fortunately, he will be playing in a very weak conference.

6-6 if he's lucky for three years - then he'll find something in the NFL.

Don’t like him going after Raesjon. Needs to back off

I don't see it. I've always got the impression that Aranda started seriously pursuing HC jobs because he felt that's what was "supposed" to be the next step in his career. Not necessarily because that was his dream. At a power conf. program like Baylor the HC has to wear many more hats that just being a playcaller. In addition to being the point man who has to go out on the road to schmooze recruits, he also has to glad-hand boosters who think their money = a significant say in the program. He also has to do countless press conferences, speaking engagements, etc, not just sit quietly in the shadows and meticulously break down game film/coach
Dave has always come across as a guy that seems to somewhat value his privacy and being out of the spotlight. You can't hide as the HC, and unlike when you're simply a DC, you are going to have to publicly answer to any criticism on a nearly daily basis. You have to do a weekly radio show where bozos from some brokedick towns call in to tell you how they know more about football than you. You can't really go out around town without being mobbed by fans.
Finally, for the first time in probably over 30 years a new Baylor HC takes over with big expectations. Think about it. Baylor hadn't been worth a shite in forever when Art Briles took over. He had minimal expectations. Then, when Rhule took over the program had been decimated to such a level that no one expected him to have quick success. The fact that he turned it around so quickly is truly remarkable.
Now, Aranda walks into a situation where Baylor was very close to making it to the CFP. Fans aren't going to be anywhere close to as patient with him as they were will all the previous hires. He gets no "grace period".
It was as good a job to take a shot at. I just don't see him having great success

I know what you mean. Nick Saban's just the life of the party everywhere he goes.

I watched his intro PC & he came across as a lecturing professor. Just a flat monotone way of speaking, no emotion whatsoever. The polar opposite of not only Coach O or any of the new coaching hires from a meet & greet the boosters type. And he will be defending against 11 Okie offenses, week after week. Wish him well & mabe his personality will fly in Baylor.

Another stupid rant myth about Aranda not being outgoing. I seriously doubt anyone that says that has had ANY kind of personal dealings with Aranda whatsoever. Well maybe expect for coachw, I’m pretty sure he’s watched Aranda slam his wife right in front of him due to the amount of hate he harbors for the man.
