Anyone else terrified about injuries going forward?

Afraid the following is going to happen:
Let's just say LSU has a *good* team next year. We only have, say, 2 losses (which is reasonable) and are ranked #10ish heading into final game of season, poised to make it into the post-season. Then all of a sudden Nussmeier (or some other very key player) gets injured. We end up barely beating Arkansas in an ugly game as our backup QB struggles to get offense going, but we finish 10-2 on the year. It's unclear if or when Nussmeier will return. The committee then says "frick you, you won't be the same team without [insert name of key player]" and leaves us out of the playoff.
If even a slight injury happens to one of our key players in the final three weeks of the season, we should lie our arses off about the seriousness of it or else the committee is going to crucify us. I say final three games, because if there is an injury, we will need as much time as possible to "prove" to the committee that we are still a playoff caliber team without said player. God I'm literally shaking as I write this right now.

Expected dumb objections to this post:
- Do not nit-pick on this singular hypothetical example provided. Yes, this could happen at 1 or 3 losses instead of two. Or maybe we have 1 loss and are ranked #5, but get pushed back to #9 and lose having the chance to host a home playoff game because of a "key injury". You get the idea
- I used Nuss as an example, yes I realize we could have another QB by then, don't red-herring the shite out of me and avoid the spirit of what I'm saying entirely
- "Bro it's not going to happen to us we're in the SEC" is not a well thought-out response at all.

I mean we should always be slightly concerned out starting QB goes out.

Nothing is terrifying about following a college football team.

Don't forget to buy an earthquake kit

I'm surprised that some of you are capable of dressing yourselves in the morning.

You're over thinking this by a lot. If it was a 12-Team playoff this year FSU would still be in.

I was going to make the first 2 arguments in response but you weeded it out. Thanks

Bro is not going to happen to us we’re in the SEC. That’s what I was going to say but you beat me to it.

FSU would've been I'm a 12 team playoff. Just win all of your games, keep a capable backup and it won't be a problem.

Terrified? LOL
The narrative about injuries will change if Bama needs it, even when there are 12. This is all this boils down to.
I can't wait for the 12 team scenario to completely frick CFB for good. It is going to be glorious.

You should get laid and find something to occupy your imagination like reading a book or something

They are undefeated trying to make it into a 4 team playoff. I’m referring to a 2 loss team trying to make it into a 12 team playoff. This comment means nothing, obviously they’d make it into a 12 team playoff

I got a bad back, both shoulders are ROUGH and my 5k time isn't what it used to. But am i terrified.... not at all.

I’m worried about them if Alabama or Ohio st is competing with us for the final spot.
Posted on 12/5/23 at 4:18 pm to Tiberius99
They were splitting hairs between 2 conference champions. They believed Alabama was better and the injured QB gave them the out they needed to put in Alabama. I am not losing any sleep over this.

You created an account just to say this?
That's more terrifying than anything you mentioned.

A seemingly grown person is terrified about injuries that may happen -330 days from now. Good find a safe space and cry about it.

Florida State was left out for a very simple reasoning-
the SEC has earned so much respect that it has become impossible to leave out of the 4 team playoff. When Alabama beat Georgia, then Alabama claimed that spot.
What happened to Florida State was:
Texas beat Alabama on the road comfortably, won their conference, had the same overall record. You can't take Bama without taking Texas too.
Someone else had to go; Michigan (Big 10) is untouchable. We saw that this season with the cheating scandal. It would have been appropriate to ban them this season as punishment, but the Big 10 wouldn't tolerate that.
Washington or Florida State. Fla State lost their QB, decision made easy.
