OK. You MISS the WHOLE POINT............
He IS a rb at LSU and YES he should KNOW BETTER,,, FACT. That's it..........

Being arrested, suspended, taken to court, made to pay medical bills, and placed on probation for throwing one punch in a bar room brawl is not getting off light no matter who the player is or where he plays.
He wasn't placed on probation for that. He was placed on probation, originally, for the carnal knowledge charge. He had probation time added for his latest offense, if I'm not mistaken.
This is not about a single punch. This is about multiple run ins with the law and coming into a program already working on your second chance and screwing up at that.
Furthermore, the legal punishment and the team punishment are, and should be, two separate things. You are punished by the legal system for the harm you did to society. You are punished by your coach and your team for the harm you did to your team.
It's absolutely absurd to see the silly blind faith on this board. If Miles were to have kicked him off the team, many of the the same people would be supporting him for "making the tough choice."
That's the BS.

Ok, then why are athletes not being conspicuously paid for their services?

I feel the situation was handled as it should have been handled. Time for all fans to accept and applaud the decision. I gained even more respect for Miles. My opinion is that he handles these situations exceptionally well.
The only thing else I wish for is that Les runs his butt off and has him ready for TCU.

The Hill story has become too big to not do SOMETHING.
The Hill story may be big on the Rant and in Baton Rouge, but I can assure you the rest of the nation has very little knowledge , if any, of Jeremy Hill or his situation with our team. I have probably 150+ employees under me in the state next to Louisiana and I could take a random survey and maybe 5 people know of him, much less know what's been happening. The only people blowing this out of proportion are folks like the OP of this topic.

TCU coach Gary Patterson said he won’t leave Devonte Fields’ two-game suspension up to a vote from his teammates. Fields was suspended after violating unspecified team rules in the spring.
“My whole team would vote Devonte to be back on the team because they all want to win,” Patterson said. “That doesn’t teach life lessons.”

For all you J Hill lovers, I hope the same crap happens to your son or daughter by an athlete and he pays no pently. Is he an awesome RB? Heck yeah. Is he a big part of LSU football? Sure. But character will always outweigh talent. Second chance you say? Sure thats how he ended up at LSU a year later. He blew his second chance. How can you pull for someone like that? Choosing to hurt yourself is one thing (smoking, drugs, etc--Tyrann) but hurting others is a big issue. Let see if you scream "no penalty" when your son is hospitalized by a sucker punch or your 14 year old is blowing a grown man.

He should not have hid behind the team vote. If he wanted to reinstate him, then call the shot. Don't hide behind kids.

[quote]As for Fields’ chances of starting against LSU if, for example, he was appealing the suspension with the school and won, Patterson was unsure. “I don’t know,” he said. I don’t think so. He’s doing everything he has to.
I find this kind of funny...but this
[quote]Patterson said he took the LSU vote as a sign of respect, noting that he doubted the players would have been involved if the Tigers were opening against a lesser opponent. “I’m sure if it was some opponent they’d beat by 100 points [the players] wouldn’t have a vote. It’s not my worry. I’ve got to play whoever they put on the field.”
IS PURE COMEDY GOLD
Is this guy for real? Hill probably will not play a down in that game, but this asshat thinks that this was simply a move to guarantee LSU a better chance to win?
News flash Patterson , " WE DON'T NEED HILL TO SKULLDRAG YOUR TEAM ALL OVER TEXAS STADIUM."
This Is a joke!

You are right. J Hill is a MONSTER.
This is life, man. People make choices to place themselves in compromised situations. Do you think, maybe, that deflecting all blame on J Hill is a little extreme?
Go feign righteous outrage about some other nonsense.

Exactly. U proved my point. This is LIFE. And your choices come with consequences. Probation on top of probation. Thats a joke. Our legal system has no backbone.

I think he's worried that his daughter is blowing someone as we speak.
Hill was a senior and the girl was a freshman. He was 4 years older than her. How some of these people are making him out to be " A Grown arse Man" ( as he put it ) preying on innocent teenage girls in pigtails is beyond comprehension

I don't have a daughter but ok
So your saying there is nothing wrong with 14 year olds blowing 18 year olds?
That's explains a lot. Thanks for the clarity.
