Sure. But I disagree with justice that it "shouldn't be too hard to win 10 games with the talent we have." As if that's an easy accomplishment in any year. Much less a year where you're playing 4 top ten teams in the preseason polls and we're barely even ranked.

Our ranking is based on our lack of coaching at HC and OC, simple as that.
Im basing our ability to win games on talent. Not where the populous thinks we will finish because of other factors
Eta-perception of our coaching

So it has nothing to do with having to replace 7 starters on offense, including QB and 3 offensive linemen?
I agree, and have even stated in this thread that more than talent goes into winning games.
I'm just not going to accept that it's "not that hard" to win 10 games in the SEC most years, especially this one. Now...last year, it really shouldn't have been that hard to win 10 games, but that was one of the most favorable schedules I can ever remember.

How in the frick is predicting an 8-4 or 9-3 season pumping sunshine? Sounds like you're excepting mediocre results already.

I thought the pumpers were mainly cucks who wanted LSU to wallow in mediocrity? Mainly Gumps who want the giant of LSU football to remain in blissful slumber. That's what I've been reading for the last 7-8 years, ironically by some of the same people who cry out "quit criticizing muh coach, baw".
Not sure what I'm supposed to think now. Guess I'll just think for myself and feel free to call me whatever. Great part about getting old, fewer and fewer fricks given.

Oh Jesus the fans and especially the media are not trying to sabatage the program.

I believe Alleva is an incompetent half-tard who hired a nitwit for a head coach. Call me a negatiger all you want, but I cannot dismiss the facts of this case. Unfortunately, I believe we all are in for a big letdown this season as, again, I think O is simply incapable. BUT...I wholeheartedly want O to prove me wrong and EARN what he was given. Still gonna pull for my Tigers every single week no matter what, but I’m preparing myself (involuntary) for a “purge” of the football program. I remember Stovall, Archer, Hallman, and Dinardo and are familiar with the warning signs. Prove me wrong O...it’s there for the taking!
This is the way I feel.

Amazing that when Les Miles was the coach, no one was making any excuses. With Coach O, theres always an excuse.
The former coach had to face the most difficult division in CFB, with Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris at QB and yet was still expected to win 10 every year.
Whatever happened to the any coach can win 10 games a year at LSu with all the talent? And now LSU even has the missing piece, a talented and competent QB, but yet 8-9 wns is fine now.
Why is that?
Burrow vs Jennings? But yet we dont expect 10 wins with this defense?
The expectations have changed dramatically at LSU.

Who said anything about lowering expectations? I just said that saying it's not hard to win 10 games against a typical SEC schedule is foolish. We've had 7 ten win seasons since 2000. Go through them and tell me those seasons were easy. In each one, there were tough games that we pulled out but could have gone either way. 2003 and 2011 were the only seasons where we coasted to 10 wins.

Pure emotion. It’s the same way I look at my kids. Everybody gets excited the week before the opener. Then reality hits.

I just call it as I see it without being biased and I definitely don't look at everything LSU related with purple and gold glasses. If that makes me a negatiger then so be it.

Man c'mon.
9 or 10 wins is being a pumper?
The standard for LSU is championships or bust.
What's next? A bowl game will be worthy of a parade?
Pitiful

Its hard to do anything well above average in a competitive field, isnt it?
Is it expected for Alabama and Georgia to win 10 games in this conference? Is that foolish?
Why not LSU? LSU has a good QB this year, right?
No one wants to talk about the cream puff schedule LSu had last year. But this year its the built in excuse before the season even begins.
How long has the Georgia coach been there. Hows their schedule?
Why is the expectation at Georgia much higher than when the previous coach was there? But at LSu its lower.

We need the defense to perform like the 2012 team. In 2012, we held Auburn to 10 points @Auburn and won. We held Florida to 14pts @Florida and lost. The Alabama ending was the most disappointing having them beat with less than a minute left.
That defense was still stacked in 2012 from the 2011 roster even without Mathieu. Offense couldn't score when it needed to and came up on the losing side of several close games:
12pts @Auburn W
6pts @Florida L
17pts vs Alabama L
23pts vs S.Carolina W
24pts vs A&M W
20pts vs Arkansas W
24pts vs Clemson L
The Florida, Alabama, and Clemson games that year were brutal to watch.

Of course those teams are EXPECTED to win 10 games. I expect LSU to win 10 as well. That doesn't mean winning 10 games isn't difficult to do.
