Burrow called his own number because the defense keyed on the RB. That was the correct read. It's called a read option for a reason.

Nope actually I’m suprised.

Brossette is much much better than I gave him credit for. I guess looking at his highschool accolades it’s not that surprising but I thought he was one of these guys that couldn’t adjust to a higher level of competition.

I was dead wrong, kid has great vision and is a perfect blend of speed and power. He’s quicker than he is fast but he hits the hole and doesn’t hesitate at all. Pretty complete back.

why should we be concerned about a good running game or not it will not effect how we eat but concerns do echo across the web and harm recruiting !

We have one decent running back, and it scares me. It should scare all of you, too.
Don't ask the opinion of others if you've already established your own and refuse to hear other's.

For my answer, I dunno yet. Auburn's front 7 is legit though. Brossette didn't run much, but there were multiple 10+ yard gashes up the middle by him. I aint "scared"

It’s was nice having a LF and Guice in the backfield but don’t forget how many times the coaching staff ran them into 8-9-10 man boxes because that was the only thing we had.

Kinda nice not having one star on the team that opponents know if they shut them down they win. Right now LSU has a team full of guys that opponents have to make in game adjustments for.

I agree. CEH looked like he is poised to be a pretty great all purpose back pretty soon. He's showing flashes.

Most(not all) of his late runs were by design. Damn bro, Auburn's defense isn't chopped liver.

I’m just waiting to see CEH in space, kid is going to be a great all purpose back. I want to see him catching balls out the backfield, I know he has great hands.

Agree. CEH had a nice one-hand screen pass that was called off.

Brossette can’t be the only option rushing wise if you want to beat teams like State, UGA, Bama, and aTm.

Yes he can. You just made that up.

this is why its vital that LSU signs two studs from this recruiting class. Projects are great and all but you need a LF/guice as a starter to be the work horse. better yet two of these types. we currently have none on LSU roster.

I'd like to see the jet sweep mixed in. The one time the ran the reverse off it, Giles would have had a huge gain if had been a straight sweep instead of reverse.

The fact that Burrow had to call his own number so many times late in yesterday’s game is alarming.

No it's not. It's good football to have a QB that can run good enough to move the chains. Its a offensive numbers advantage to have a qb run the ball.

A short passing game can act like a running game

I hope Ems can put a few wrinkles in over the next few weeks

You’ll see Helaire or Chris Curry have one breakout game against LA Tech Ole Miss or maybe even Florida then everyone will be at ease going into that tough three game stretch beginning in October.

I really like CEH in the wildcat. I also would like him in space because of his cutting ability.

Once CEH learns to plant that foot and get N or S he will become a runner. Young guy just trying to get better.

LSU has had to throw some offensive linemen in games early with little or no game expirience....especially this early into the season... but they’ve all performed well and will only improve even more as the season progresses....the running game will improve as the line improves....
