Not having AR tonight was hardly our downfall tonight. You can't win if you don't score runs, and 2 runs in an SEC game will not get you the W, usually. It'll be a good thing when we get him back.

spot on brah... even with ranaudo on the mound tonight we wouldn't have given him much help. we gots to start hitting the ball consistently for 9 innings.

I think that we will need to see how things develop over the course of the season. A down year would not surprise me, but it would not concern me either, considering what they are coming off of the last CWS.

We're still one of the best teams in the SEC without him, I just don't think we're a CWS winning team without him.

We could be a CWS without him if Matulis steps up, but AR will be back so.......

Also, the loss wasn't Ross' fault, Bols dominated our guys.

AR is an automatic win. He changes our team completely with him pitching...

Not automatic, but close to it. If LSU doesn't score runs, he can't win a game. The offense just didn't get it done last night, no reason to panic yet.

We won't be a top 8 seed for damn sure without him. No freakin way would that happen. Who are you going to send out there as your fri starter that isn't going to throw fatties? All of these guys including Ross do not have the command necesary to be nothing but a 500 pitcher without great hitting. From what I have seen, we are mising great hitting and I have no confidence that the clutch hitting will return.

It is way too early to speculate on such a subject as the Tigers just played their first SEC game. Since baseball is a game where the best team can manage only 4 hits one night and then explode for 12 or 14 hits the next afternoon. Baseball is based on percentages and many things can affect a game's outcome. Arkansas started a senior picture last night. Mike Bolsinger came in 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA). We started Austin Ross. It was just a game where we just did not get enough hits and yet still scored 3 runs. Arkansas only scored 6. It is not like LSU was beaten down 12-2.

Even the World Champion New York Yankees lost at least 50 games last year and there are times this year that they will manage less than 4 hits in a game. Some teams are hot like Kansas was last weekend and then they lose to Tulane. Good teams will get up for LSU because of who we are. I believe LSU will bounce back today and win and then tomorrow should be a great battle for the rubber game. LSU is not going to go undefeated in conference play but winning on average 2 of 3 games in conference will 90% of the time will win the SEC conference. I think LSU is going to do fine this year. Once Ranaudo comes back, he will be fresh and stronger than ever. We will be in the hunt for the title and regionals when they come around. I say the Tigers bust today's game open and manage 10+ hits today. Go Tigers

I don't think so. And I'm only trying to be realistic, but we are potentially a middle of the pack SEC team without him

He's a great pitcher, but one player isn't likely to be the difference between a middle-of-the-pack SEC team and a CWS team. Even with Ranaudo, we are going to need the other pitchers and the hitting to improve to be a CWS team.

Yes... This ain't football. The team can look like crap for half the year and find their groove before the tourny and take it all, you know, like last year.....

6 runs scored on three hr. We didn't lose to a bunch of big innings we just had three bad pitches that left the park. We lost from lack of hitting and poor fielding.

Not too sure why Hanover was leading off second base, last night in the 9th, by standing behind it. I watched him back up from the base rather than towards 3rd and said wtf is he doing?

Hopefully we can bounce back today! Geaux tigers!

Two runs with AR pitching gets you wins.

That would've got us extra innings last night. I wonder if AR can hit, too? I bet he's the second coming of Babe Ruth and we don't even know it.

Should be a gorgeous day in Pugetopolis today!
