They'll try to run the clock to shorten the game

They lead the nation in offensive plays/game, they are going to be moving faster than our offense does. Whatever happens Saturday morning, shortening the game won't be it

I hope they remember to unlock it before the game.

If Aranda is still the defensive coordinator, it may be more than 30. Soft zones, no blitzes,....probably more.

I hope not. Would like to see the D hold USU to less than 20.

That said, I’d love to see 50+ from the offense.

52-17.

I got downvoted to hell in another thread, I am not sure if its because I said LSU would give up 17, or if its because I said LSU would score only 52.

If they come out flat after the bye week, this game could be closer than most think. But if they come out on fire it will be a sure blowout until some late scores from State.

No. I expect the defense to step up and force more 3 and outs. I expect a 58-14/10 type game.

We forced 7 3-and-outs against Vandy... Just sayin'.
We score so quickly on offense that opponents are getting a lot of possessions.

Vandy essentially had 15 possessions (excluding their last drive for 2 plays in which the game ended) and we forced 7 3-and-outs, 2 interceptions, and a turnover on downs. They also had another drive in which they punted - that drive was 5 plays and they netted 9 yards.

The defense is going to turn it around. We gave up gave up 38 points to Vanderbilt, which sounds pretty bad, but only 24 of those were on defense.

People quit thinking that the defense only gave up 24 points. And after the first drive actually played pretty well.

Yep. 60-28 sounds about right. Hope the defense is better than that though

I'm actually okay with giving up points to schools like Vandy and even Utah St. Aranda is sorting some things out, we have had some injuries (and still do), and I will feel much better if this is like 35 - 7 at the half and give up 3 TDs in the second half (against mostly our defensive 2s), on the way to a 63 - 28 finish.

I'm 100% okay with that.

What I'm not going to be comfortable with is a relatively slow offensive start and, maybe a 21-14 first half, because then I'm still going to have lots of questions about the D, no matter how the game finishes.

Right - counting all 16 of their possessions, that's 1.5 points per drive, which is reasonably good on paper. Even counting just the 15 "full" drives, that's only 1.6 points per drive.

That equates to a "conventional", old school LSU game of about 12 to 16 points scored by the other team with 8 to 10 possessions.

60 plus to 17. I think Burrow wants to go over 70

Lord I hope not. I just wish for once LSU would take a page out of Ohio State's playbook and beat the living devil out of an inferior team. And that means shutting 'em out if possible.

I'm sick of seeing teams like Vandy and NW State marching down the field and taking the lead in games early. We need to build up at least a 35-0 lead in this game and coast to a big win.

It’s more like you’ve written off our defense.

I expect to see an excellent showing from our defense this weekend.
