people like booger McFarland who are saying he's waiting for the NFL are full of shite, his draft stock is taking a huge hit.

Something is very wrong

Anyone thinking Key is " protecting" his draft status could not be more wrong.
His stock is plummeting because of all this.

I honestly think the guy is on some heavy antipsychotics. If he is this is over for him and we need to pull him. He's not going to improve.

All he needs to do is look at Sam Montgomery. He was great as a sophomore and was expected to be a high draft pick. He proceeded to basically take his junior year off. His draft status plunged and he never regained form and washed out of the NFL very quickly.

Todd Gurley said it best after he blew out his knee in his junior year. His comment was something to the effect that he only knew how to play all out and if he tried to not play that we, he might lose it forever.

Montgomery was 1st team all sec his last year at LSU. His numbers were nearly identical to his 2011 season. He had 13.5 TFL in 2011 and 13 in 2012. He had 9 sacks in 2011 and 8 in 2012. He just didn't have the size to play DE or the speed and quickness to play OLB in the NFL. But this notion that he coasted his last year here is a farce.

Mingo's production, however, was cut in half. He had 15 TFL and 8 sacks in 2011 compared to 8.5 TFL and 4.5 sacks in 2012. But he was an athletic freak, so he was a top 5 draft pick regardless, albeit an eventual bust.

I would say he shouldn't be starter but not benched. Maybe it will give him motivation to get in SEC football shape.

How is his conditioning so bad with a shoulder injury? I could see if it was knee or ankle. It seems he was lazy in offseason and gained some bad weight. He is slow and knows it. Hope he gets the fire back and can shed a few pounds.
