Was a good umpire. Ben is great. Lyn is good with Ben. Yvette is pretty good.
It depends on who they pair him with that matters the most. A good play by play good os only as his partner and vice versa. There are better ones but there are some that are far far worse.

This is not an act. Having met Lyn and gone hunting with him, when I listen to him, I don't really hear anything insincere in what he says during the games. Sure, he's trying to add some character to his commentary but that is just him. If this bothers you, then that really says more about you than it does about Lyn. I kinda miss his play calling when ESPN takes over the weekend games.

Did you hear those scrubs during the PurdueIndianaTech series. Couldn’t listen, something about him brings it home to the soul, I would listening to Ben analyze my boring day at home in a recliner sleeping. Ben is the absolute best, those two together are Gold Jerry, Pure Gold I Tell ya!!
