The old people not being a big part of the cheering has been an issue as far back as I can remember (1988-ish). This isn't new.

I'm also 28 and I promise you, the people running shite in the student section when we were at LSU were just as weird. I love them and a lot of them are here, but come on man... I don't think it's them as much as the lack of any excitement from the non-loyal students.

What's funniest to me is people coming on here and defending the crowd. I'm not saying it's all the students' fault. The old people will always be old. But no one can go to a game and say "this is an electric atmosphere." We should strive for that. The reality is energy starts with the students and trickles throughout the stadium.

It takes a weird person to basically get up in front of thousands of people they don't know and try to rally them. I have no problem with them because they love their school enough to try and get the fans to make an impact on the game.

I just yell when we're doing bad to try to wake up everybody, then scream when we're rocking the house. Don't really play cheerleader just hope people follow my lead. And yes Butt the student section needs to get rowdy like we used to back in the day. Hell even before my day, just go back and watch the LSU UK season finale from 1980 on YouTube. That fricking place was electric baw. And LOUD AS FRICK

I wouldn't say it takes a weird person to get in front of thousands and cheer/ hype up. I mean it's pretty cool when you have a good change to get on national tv. Sometimes all you need is a little whiskey. Whiskey helps when you're down front in a purple suit or a pimp costume.
And no I'm not that short kid in the Barney purple suit this year. I had a dark purple suit and went to games 3-5 years ago. Used to sit on the left side of the section next to the guy that wore a tux to every game and LSU Elvis.
