Penciled in a slot #1

He's literally listed on the depth chart a month ago as the starter. Now whethwr he is a starter or not, he will be in the top 4 in receptions.

He had the 3rd most catches last season out of returning WRs. He already is a contributor.
That's very misleading. Realistically, he was fifth on the team last year, which is not what you would expect from a five-star player heading into his third year. I'm not knocking the kid because I want him to have a big year and help lead us to a NC, but he's never mentioned by the coaches or on message boards. Living in Alabama, I would absolutely love for him to blow up and have an incredible year, which is why I was asking about him!

Will he be the last LSU player ever coached by Nick Saban?

He was also never really healthy last year after knee surgery his freshman year. He looks healthy now.
That's fantastic news!

I don’t think they needed him last year they were so stacked at receiver. I think this year they will play him in the slot a bunch to see if he can grab some YAC yards on short passes.

That's what I'm thinking too! He clearly has the athletic talent to change a game, so I hope this year he can finally show that because we're going to need him with a new QB and group of young, inexperienced, but very talented WRs that are now going to be asked to take the lead role.

I remember when he transferred back home from Alabama and all the excitement from the fans, but has anyone heard anything about him becoming a contributor? Clearly, very talented but no one ever talks about him. Anyone got inside info on what's going on with him? I'm starting to get that Russell Shepard vibe!
Honestly, I don't get the hype on this guy. Seems to be another one of those kids that would have been better off sticking with track.

He will have 2 punt returns for TDS this year
He won’t return 2 punts all year

Without injuries, I’d be absolutely shocked if he was 4th on the team in receptions. I think, again barring injuries, he’s clearly gonna have less than:
Lacy
Hilton
Daniels
Thomas
Taylor
And maybe a couple out of Green, Pimpton, Brown, or Sampson will be in that mix too. It’s not like it used to be where the “slot guy” was always short and shifty. We play a lot of bigger athletic guys in the slot now for matchups. And Thomas is a better old school, small “slot guy” than Anderson anyway.
And I’m not knocking Anderson. I’m happy to have him and hope he finds a role and excels at it. I just don’t know if there are that many catches to go around for him to have a whole lot. Especially if we run the ball more traditionally with our RBs this year. Our WRs are gonna have to be able to block.

They should use him like Florida used Percy Harvin.

This sounds good until you realize we only have 3 returning receivers that recorded a catch. So he’s 3rd out of 3.

Just wasn’t as electric as advertised. Couldn’t evade tacklers in space. Maybe it was the injury and he improves but I have my doubts
