From my personal experience, don't hold your breath waiting for the BRPD to take any action. For example, somebody randomly shot up several buildings on the street where I used to live and everyone that lived nearby told the police about cameras in the area that would of definitely captured the crime, including one of those police cameras with the gun sensors, and they refused to do anything. We actually asked the police if they were going to check the cameras and they literally responded with one word, "No".

not sure about LA law, but generally burglary has nothing to do with the value of the items. value determining severity comes into play when dealing with varying degrees of theft. burglary is simply the breaking into a dwelling with the intent to commit a theft or felony. now, with jennings, it's a bit unclear if they can prove his intent, as he wouldn't have the requisite intent for theft he he legitimately believed he was taking items that were actually his. what that would boil down to is a criminal trespass or some similar charge. regardless, jennings is a moron for handling this the way he did, and i wouldn't bat an eye if he were booted.

Yep! POS cops knocked on door one morning with some bullshite warrant for domestic violence the a-hole DA put out on me even though my wife told him she doesn't wanna press charges. My old lady answered and told them I was taking a shower getting ready to go to work. They go right past her into the frickin bathroom and demand I put something on and go with them. The dicks wouldn't give me anytime to dress properly.
