I am so terribly ashamed and embarrassed for our track and field program. I may not be able to get out bed tomorrow from depression after learning of our girl's relay team's failure.

Oh, God. If only life were good enough so that LSU could win everything, every time, in every sport. Every year.

Oh yeah, because that's equivalent to typing up a rant that took me maybe two minutes on a free message board

I am disappointed that LSU track seems to have been passed up by UGA, Bama, AU, etc. But these things happen when you focus on recruiting sprints and not much else.
These things happen when you go cheap and let Great coaches walk away and then replace them with Mediocre ones.

Many LSU AD'S seem to be haunted by that Demon called Mediocrity; just like many LSU fans are.

The Snowflake Pump Lumps accept and revel in that mediocrity.

They all need Exorcisms to free themselves from the possession.

Dennis Shaver is a very good track coach but he is not Pat Henry and no one else is either. Pat Henry is the Nick Saban of NCAA track and field. When you have the best at something you should do whatever it takes to hand on to them and we did not do that with Henry.

No one is arguing Skip was a good AD right? He was downright awful

I've been saying this since the stripping of the last women's title. He is not a good coach. I go to at least 1 away meet every year to watch them and I'm done.
As far as the 4X1 running out of the box, it happens.

There's not a lot of diversity. No mid distance runners and. Or many field athletes. What about hurdles our pride and joy?

Both teams finished 7th. How many other schools had men and women in the top 10 this year? Pat Henry wasn't able to pull it off. The only other schools that did are Oregon, Arkansas, and Florida, all of whom put in way more money than LSU. Arkansas has different head coaches for men and women, so it is difficult to compare coaching on that front.

LSU had a woman set the low altitude CR at 100m this year, another woman crack the all-time collegiate top 10 at 100m, a collegiate record 4x1 on the women's side, a great men's 4x1, and a great men's 400m runner. The problem is on the jumps side, where we have been historically very good in the sand for men. For whatever reason, Lane hasn't been getting it done the past couple of years and the scholarship money allocated to his events has been wasted. Shaver isn't the problem, and if he were to leave it would be really hard to find someone to keep the sprints/relays where he has them. It's a staffing issue, and as head coach it falls on him to make that change.

No diversity at LSU in Track and Field. Fire everybody involved in that decision-making process.

Are you seriously blaming Shavers for a bad baton exchange?
