And that's why you can't play little brothers . . . they talk too much pre-game.

Games typically offer three chances to grab the public's attention: (1) the build up before the game, (2) a victory in the game itself, or (3) the post-game presser.

Marlin figured the game itself would get him no publicity; he knew he was unlikely to win. And nobody was going to listen to what he said after the game. No one wants to hear whining and excuse making.

So his only chance to get attention was to talk shite before the game.

That's why you can't play games with the likes of ULL. They know they won't win the game so they'll try other ways to get attention. LSU doesn't need that shite. Like Wade said, there are plenty of better opponents (better challenge and more class) out there.

UL had maybe the worst 27-6 resume i've ever seen, which tells the whole story of why LSU doesn't gaf about scheduling them. if UL were a VCU-like program of course we'd play them

Give me a break with the weak 27-6 schedule as a reason not to play. Wade conveniently left out Sam Houston, UT Martin, Alcorn, and North Florida from his cute post game rant. Even scheduled Tulane for an exhibition after they had 5 wins the previous season.

They are NOT "little brothers". This isn't A&M and UT or Michigan/Michigan State so don't give them the satisfaction.
If anything they are the distant relatives who don't get invited to family functions because they are always starting fights.

What does that even mean?

If LSU can schedule those teams non-conference this year, why not play some in-state teams who have better programs?

How does it feel that your best team in 40+ years couldnt beat an LSU program in the first year of a rebuild?

Addressing your actual post - why the shite should we throw ULL a bone? We make our schedules within the SECs regulations. We can, have and will schedule better programs whose coaches aren’t retarded shite bags that smear the entire program. Good luck with that guy. Maybe y’all will host an NIT game next year when you choke in your conference tourney again

I guess I see it something's good for the state. Last night felt like a great time in the PMAC. It was a little rowdy, but that has to be a better atmosphere than beating up on UT Martin right?

The whole point from the ULL perspective is to shchedule some type of home and home series. The SEC rules require home and home out of conference series to be scheduled with teams that meet a three year rollinh minimum RP!. ULL does not meet it. That's the reason. As far as a non return game goes, theyve happened from time to time (5 in the last 17 years) and I suspect they will happen again. But that won't quell the "scared to play us at Cajundome) nonsense it's not a home and home, so what's the point?

I mean I guess if LSUs future held another decade of languishing in mediocrity, playing a ULL would add excitement. But we have a real coach who is recruiting elite players so we won’t need some kind of fabricated rivalry to perk things up going forward. Plus, as has already been mentioned, we schedule plenty of programs that are better than ULL. That plus playing in a real conference = why give a shite about ULL?

Maybe your coach shouldn't have shot off his mouth. See Wade can do that because ULL has nothing to offer LSU.

I'm down to make the trip to BR for a few years. Houston is maybe 12 spots ahead of the Cajuns in rolling RPI for a home and home? Maybe make the trip to the Cajundome every 4 year if that's the case and the math is there. I'm fine with that, I think both fan bases would enjoy it.

I'm not on the same page as the comments about "scared to play in the Cajundome". Sitting next to the court last night, clearly the coaches let the week/game get away from them.

That's been the chatter after the last 6 losses, and I've followed them all. That and the refs screwing the Cajuns...every single time, no exaggeration.

No matter who you are, you're going to take character challenges and slights personally, regardless of who or where they come from, so I can understand the sentiments of feeling insulted from the Tigers perspective.

Most schools don't mind throwing a bone to an in-state school. We all know the challenges they usually face from an athletic budget standpoint.

However, when the little brother program always acts like an asshat, why would it be beneficial to the big brother program to bother?
I'd much rather play a program that would be quality opponent or grateful for the assistance.
UL-L qualifies as neither.
Let them whine all they want. They've earned no favors.

How long does Bob Marlin and your insanely idiotic fan base think Will Wade has been at LSU? I'll safely assume Wade did not create this year's schedule
