A lot more UL people than you might think had an issue with some of Marlin’s behavior, particularly those that are not drawn into the irrational back & forth between the less mature portions of each fan base.

I find Wade’s reactions to be a bit more understandable than Marlen’s But I think he could have taken more of the high road, maybe more of a backhanded compliment sort of scenario.
All in all, this constant discussion of coaches behavior somewhat dismissed what was a really good basketball game.

Also, Wade wasn't pumping his schedule to justify his seeding. He was responding to something that Marlin said about his team.

It absolutely was a fun atmosphere. Particularly in light of the fact that it was a first round game of the "consolation tournament" that wasn't even on broadcast TV.
Both fanbases are pissing and moaning today. Yet, this is the most attention LSU basketball has gotten all season on this board. A little animosity is not a bad thing (while LSU/ULL really isn't a "rivalry", animosity breeds competitive play and good atmospheres. Alabama/Auburn isn't a fun matchup because they are both in the same state. It's because their fanbases hate each other (at least on game day).
In no way, shape or form, does LSU ever need to go to Lafayette to play ULL in basketball. There is no significant reward for doing so. However, getting them to come to the PMAC from time to time would be a nice matchup.
Butthurt LSU fans need to get over the comments made by Marlin. That kind of stuff used to happen all the time. Dale Brown would get into pissing matches with other SEC coaches (shite, there was nearly a fight between coaches after the UK/LSU Elite 8 game in 86). The legendary coaches in the early days of Big East always had feuds. A little bit of animosity smack talking between coaches is fine.
