The ncaa clears him but the SEC wants to deny him eligibility because a "source"torpedoes the kid. Just floors me that a grown man, someone associated with recruiting, would work this hard to kill a kid's dream. That is some bad juju that person put on himself.

give you one Eddie Lacy - and the SEC certainly didn't hold him up like this. Screw Slive and the entire SEC office of Gumps.
I was just coming to post this. Funny how the Gumps get these guys cleared all day long, but God forbid if LSU has a guy with questions. The SEC is so corrupt.

Lacy had real academic issues and they were serious, but as I understand it LSU did all they could to help him knowing he would play for Bama.

Well shouldbt he be taking GED courses online to make sure the questioned credits, if ruled out, can be satisfies by his ged credits
I hope I'm wrong, but all this points to a recruit with very little self discipline. 380? WTF? That's just irresponsible and lazy for a player not to get more prepared for college than that.
Is anyone else worried about his character?

Sounds like what they did for Cam Rob, too...

Which is the point, how can they constantly get away with it and others don't. Unfrickingbelievable.

The source said Valentine had very few high school credits entering his junior year.
“If Travonte Valentine qualifies there’s something wrong,” the source said. “It’s not humanly possible."
Well if Eddie Lacy can make up about 3 years worth of credits in 12 months then anything is possible.

The mills of the gods grind slowly, but exceedingly fine.

Why does it matter that the school is located next to a used car dealership? That detail is obviously an attempt to associate the school with dishonesty.
Dude it's SI. They've become a garbage dump of reporting the past few years.

Yeah, because it should matter if an agency of the federal government deems you worthy of recognition

That could be taken more than 1 way. On the one hand, sounds like a very small school. On the other, sounds like the anytime fitness version of elementary schools.....Not good

Does Billy G still harbor a grudge against LSU?
We know Valentine is highly rated-- we can reluctantly wait a year for him, though he would be eligible to play if he was at Bama.
By the way is Valentine participating in any workouts or conditioning program currently?
