WOW!! You are just dumb.
Must be those hallucinations acting up again I guess. Could have sworn that at the time, LSU had only one loss, to the #1 program in the country, with the opportunity to play the #1 and #2 teams in the country later in the year.
You tell me how a team whose one loss was to Florida, and who later would play and beat that team in Atlanta would get locked out of the NC.

Again, you have nothing to say.
You think telling someone to "go frick yourself" is having something to say? I think it's a sure sign you are mentally challenged and I refuse to abuse you further.
Have a good day.

I was having a constructive correspondence with Sandwich until you decided to jump in the thread, become stupid, and make a post about a whole lot of nothing. Telling you to pleasure yourself was warranted.

This is pathetic. This post, just like your first post to me, has no point.

I'm done with you.
Get over yourself and leave me alone or I will contact your dad and tell him you are playing on his p/c.

That's real clever. Again, in this entire thread, you've made no points and offered nothing constructive.

I was right. You are on your dad's p/c.

Good God. Here we go again. Too many LSU fans are happy with average. Miles is slowly and steadily turning LSU into an average university. If he don't win the West this year, he will be gone. It don't matter how much the buyout is, he will be gone.

You're like a child. You don't have the maturity to quit a thread when you say you are done. Again, this whole thread, you've made no posts with any points. Then again, slow people do that often.

I have lived in New Orleans since 82, and over time LSU has become my 2nd favorite team.
My assessment is that Miles is a pretty good coach.
He recruits very well, and has done better at LSU than most coaches not named Saban in the past 20 years.
But with Saban at LSU and Urbam at UF, is having a "pretty good coach" enough to compete at the same level with 2 elite programs that have elite coaches?
The answer is no. LSU will not be able to compete
with Bama and the Gators with Miles at the Helm.
Not on a level playing field. Miles is not an elite coach, and Saban and Meyer are 2 of the very best in college football.
But the 5 million dollar question is what elite coach is available to replace Miles? There are just a handful of elite coaches that can go head to head with Saban and Urban Meyer.

Miles is a 8-4ish coach. He has proven that in the past two years. That's how good he is. It's a fact. To me, there's no difference between 8-4 and 6-6; they each are below that of which LSU is capable, so they're both disappointing. There is, however, a huge difference between 8-4 and say, 10-2, which Les Miles can do if he can get Nick Saban do recruit for him.

By having two other BCS league teams go undefeated.

From 7 and fricking 5. Big deal. It's still the worst season we've had since 2002, other than 2008, which is also his baby.

There were more than eight at that point, and we were a longshot at best from the Florida game on, especially with the Alabama loss (now guaranteed every year) still ahead of us.

Then, how come his record, you know that fact thing as opposed to opinion thing, equates to like 10+ and 3ish coach???

Well hell, let's not even bother to show up for those games.
I hope the players have stronger backbones than the fans.
If I recall correctly, LSU is like 3-5 vs. the teams you mentioned. Below average certainly, but hardly we can't compete material. imo

Nebraska and Tom Osbourne

It is a big deal because despite what you want to believe, it reflects an upward trend after a free-fall in 2008. 2009 may have been the worst season since 2002, but you're talking about a period of hyperproductivity within the program that only Florida and Southern Cal can even begin to challenge.

Eight
And you're kidding yourself if you think that a 1-loss LSU wouldn't have jumped everyone except Texas.

I count 13 teams that were in national title discussion based on that poll. I do not count Utah and Houston. So is that the new standard of this program? To be in national title discussion before we play Alabama. Cause I'd rather be in the national title discussion around December.

Les Miles can win 10 games a year if he can get Nick Saban to take care of the recruiting and (and probably the game-day coaching).
Anytime a school hires a coach, rest assured that you'll know more about that coach in years 4&5 than in years 1/2/3. Les Miles is no different from any other coach in this respect.
So yes, my friend, Les Miles is a 8-4ish coach.
Posted on 4/19/10 at 5:07 pm to jrich11
When we first hired Les, the first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days. And the third day seemed like a week again and the fourth day seemed like eight days. And the fifth day he went to see Joe Alleva and that seemed just like a day, and then he came back and later on the sixth day, in the evening, when we saw each other, that started seeming like two days, so in the evening it seemed like two days spilling over into the next day and that started seeming like four days, so at the end of the sixth day on into the seventh day, it seemed like a total of five days. And the sixth day seemed like a week and a half. I have it written down, but I can show it to you tomorrow if you want to see it.
