I think they have more players with dreads if this is going to factor into the outcome.

I agree with the OP, and for whatever reason it seems there is more pressure for Alabama to win. It's really equal, but all the talking heads are picking Bama, they play at home, have a "genius" coach, etc. It just has the feel that LSU, through no real rational reason other than point spread, can safely assume the underdog role, on they revel.

Miles' teams always appear to be having more fun, which allows them to play looser. Saban is such a hard arse, that his players sometimes seem to play tight and are afraid of making mistakes.

This is The Animal House Game: the freaks and misfits from LSU vs. the Process Nazis of Nick "Neidemeyer" Saban. And we all know how the movie ended.

I'm happy with Miles, but I would've kept Saban in 2005.

When you win, you're allowed to be an a-hole.

Muschamp = a-hole = fail

I like your assessment of the two coaches, and couldn't agree more. Saban could downplay the second coming of Christ if it came to that.

In fairness at the BCS National Championship game against Texass, Saban came out with an onside kick or fake punt to start the game.

Against Auburn in 2001 same thing

He aint afraid

saban has grown wiser in some ways since his time at lsu. there's no doubt that bama will be prepared and pumped up. i still think miles is more creative in game planning than saban and co. saban is like a machine, efficient and unrelenting.

Would not be surprised if this is NOT the close game most expect, in favor of LSU. I just don't see how Bama scores on us. The only teams to reach 20 were Heisman hopefuls in spread offenses. A traditional power running game is going to be tough going. TR might reach 100 yds but it'll be on >25 carries and prob less if trailing after halftime.

I like
LSU 34
Bama 14

copeland and bamas lbs. good matchup. you don't really think about the fb matchups, but our fbs have been destroying people this year. had some bone crushing blocks against auburn.

Not going to be that close....they have strarted slow in all their games. We have come out of the gate pretty well especially on defense (not a single first quarter TD).....we get up on them early and AJ has to pass a little more down field we will rattle him quick and then its going to snowball

yea, this has the potential to be the game difference. of course, it's not like bama hasn't been in a lot of big games and they seem to handle most of them very well. the worst i've seen this affect them was in their NC game vs tejas in '09. saban tried some new things and his team was just up to executing them. they won when they simply reverted to their bread and butter.

Their fanbase kept whining because they kept playing teams after the other team got a bye week.

interior DL and OL also. the LB advantage is huge

i totally agree about LB's. i also agree with OL.

but i'm interested to know whether you think they have a talent and/or depth advantage at DT.

We have contained several good runners, particularly LaMichael James and Michael Dyer - 2 of the best players we've faced this year.

Our tackling will have to be more like it was at Oregon and less Kentucky/Tennessee/Auburn to contain Richardson and Lacy.

This is the first combo of this quality we have faced.

You almost wonder if Saban doesn't have a monkey on his back. People have always talked about how great he is - but if he loses to Miles next Saturday, that whole mystique will be gone. His record will be 2 - 5 vs. LSU.

if bama was built on speed on offense, i'd have no problem being overconfident with this one.

but they're not, and if we don't tackle well, gonna be a long day. LSU just needs to play like they have been. strong D, efficient and mistake free O, and solid on spec teams especially with wing dictating the field postion battle.
