I think it's funny, but at the same time, it's pretty ridiculous and awkward.

People keep using the same excuse over and over again like "Why doesn't he just answer the question??!! Why is he starting Jefferson??!! This wouldn't happen if he'd answer the question!!"

Miles doesn't have to answer anything and owes nothing to any measly fan.....because remember, that's what you are........

He doesn't even give the media, the people that get paid to find out, a straight answer as to why he starts Jefferson.

People act like they deserve answers after acting the way they do.

prominentwon, you can check my history. i'm not a negative guy and have defended miles more than most.

With the above said. you are totally wrong. Without the fan, there is no les miles at lsu, there isn't lsu football.

he doesn't owe the fan's his scheme, his strategy, his game plan, ect. (it's his job to win games for the fans who pay the salary. they want a champion)

he does owe the fan's a straight answer/reason for his continued decision to play a guy who hasn't performed as well as the other guy, which appears to go against what is best for the team/program.

there isn't a logical reason why a less performing player is playing above a performing player.

It makes me nervous that he may be more interested in his own agenda, whatever that may be, (a new contract, a f you to the people that have questioned him/pay his salary, or whatever,) than he is interested in what is best for his players, the team, the program, and yes the fans.

with that said, i hope j.j. go's out there and scores 6 t.d.'s in the game. I just don't have any basis to believe this will happen due to the prior 7 games.

...and you HONESTLY think they're going to give it to you? Name any coach in the history of football who would give you the details as to what they're doing on a call in show from a restaurant.
there are plenty of coaches who are very frank and answer questions asked of them. Pete Carroll, Bobby Bowden, Spurrier most of the time,

He doesn't have to tell you shite.
i never said he did. But he's obligated to answer questions as both a public employee and as part of his contract. Whether or not he bumbles around like an idiot is completely up to him

There are many on here who are proud of exactly that.

I'm not going to defend the caller, because I know from reading his posts that he has good football knowledge, and could have used that opportunity to be creative in his criticism.

But, your concerns of embarrassment from our fan base are unfounded, IMO.

ABC, CBS, ESPN, and FOX have been doing some form of pre and post game shows for decades. Please point out to me any other coach that has had an entire segment dedicated to a list of circumstances in which he mismanaged a game.

That's where starting Jefferson fits. It's his scheme. It's his gameplan. He doesn't have to share any of that with anyone outside the program.

For all we know, Jefferson is STARTING. Meaning he's taking the first snaps. Who's to say that he won't play but 2 more series? Who's to say that's why Miles was laughing?

I doubt that very seriously, but I know better than to keep asking the same question over and over again if a man isn't going to answer them.

Might as well put me in the back seat with him and start, " Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

I don't think the Coach's call-in show is the place for hard-hitting questions. However, the lack of integrity by the local media leaves the LSU fans wanting answers to simple questions. These questions are either never asked by the media, or if they are, Miles never answers the question. The local media is too scared to say, "Wait a minute Coach Miles, in all of that incoherent rambling, you never answered the question." When Miles says, "Both QB's bring a different skill set" the follow up question should be, "Coach Miles, you're insinuating that JJ is a running QB who can throw, but the team runs for less yards with him in the game, and he despite being the starter for 7 games, he hasn't passed for over 100 yards since Game 2. Exactly what does JJ do that a true Wildcat QB can't."

Les is a pussy, why not answer the questions or is it he doesn't understand the question? As long as he starts jj he is going to be criticized. JJ would not make a div. 2 qb! :rimshot:

Agreed. Funny.

My point is that people are taking it seriously enough to freak the frick out and wonder why he's not answering questions to their liking.

If I were in that position, I'd probably say "frick your likings" too. One of these days, I wish he would but he would be in more hot water for that than he would for starting JJ.

One thing that cannot be said about Miles is that he has done something dishonorable or with evil intentions. He is universally described as a good guy.

Starting from there, you've gotta think he has some notion that what he is doing is in the best interests of one or more of his players, and by extension the team.

We may not agree with it and have every right to criticize the flaws we see in it. But I'm trying to take the perspective that he is not doing it simply to thumb his nose at the fans. He has a reason which to him seems to be in the best interest of the team. Whether he's right or not is anybody's guess.

And Prom is right- Miles would truly be an idiot to air the teams laundry on a radio call-in show.

yea he gives straight answers to

"coach what is your favorite ice cream?"

why not just say before the show that you're only going to answer softball questions so don't ask anything tough?

I don't want a head coach that isn't comfortable with himself and feels like he has to explain every unpopular decision. He is one of the top coaches in the country, FACT. His record speaks for itself. Anyone who thinks otherwise has a severe LSU memory loss. He makes the decisions based on what he thinks is best, that is what he is paid to do.

Just like 7-0 = undefeated

So just shut it!

Les should NEVER answer questions about his QB's, minor injuries, why x-RB is not getting more carries or whatever.

He does the show because he has to but you morons disrespecting him is totally embarrassing and don't think the media will not turn on a dime.

This time next week miles will be elevated to deity status in preparation for Saban Bowl and you will still look like a petty child.

I don't run the show. Ask Hawthorne. My argument is just that Miles doesn't have to answer anything and you guys are upset that he won't. Im just trying to figure out what's so hard to understand about it.

I'm embarressed that there are fans out there that support this arse clowns decision to start JJ over Lee. By supporting Miles, you are saying F you to the entire team who bust their butts to win a championship, just to have Miles limit them with his stupidity. I don't care if Miles goes 10-2, I'd still fire him for being an idiot and embarressing this program every week. say what you want but it's our assistant coaches and players winning. miles is holding them back.
ust like a ranter. Telling people what they support and what they want or
